~S~ All, A question, How to make a multiplayer room in vanila IL-2 1946 4.08M without useing hyperlobby or other software, And will it show up in hyperlobby for the one's that have it? I am trying to make private room for 8-18. In multiplay options, if players search local servers in IL-2 game multiplayer options can they connect. Any help would be greatfull

Hi

Firstly to answer some of your questions, assuming you are not running a dedicated server.

If you launch a server without Hyperlobby or other software just from the IL2 1946 exe then its hidden from the public.

Players to join the server would need the IP and port number that you are hosting on, they can join via ip this way.

A few things to do when hosting the way you want to.

1. Open port 21000 udp in your firewall.

2. Your IP will need to be given to the clients that want to join. You can find your IP here >> http://www.whatsmyip.org/

All you need to do is start your IL2 1946 and select Dogfight or Coop mode launch the mission/map.

Clients would join on your ip and port, for example: Start IL2 1946>Multiplay>Join Server>77.888.444.33:21000

...kindly decided that I ask a question here, please give your opinion.
Given Oleg's support for mods, and those "hack" attempts I heard of that existed in the dark past(?) of the old Il-2 engine, maybe these two extremes can overlap once we enter SOW ?

What do you think, can you imagine a new gametype , where we can slave the AI to our own will, similar to an RTS game, but this time, given the depth of SOW, we can "teach" the AI, instead of babysitting like we used to do in RTS games ?

Oleg mentioned, the engine CAN be used for documentary videos , to show those legendary moments of the past. Maybe he meant its not even necessary for you to sit in the cockpit and carefully execute those manouvers, but the AI is decent enough?? Don't forget, he can use videocard muscle this time, and as far I read , AI is a priority....
