Never run out. You have to go into a saved game file. Here is the path on my computer; C:\Users\jim\Documents\my games\men of war\profiles\player\save. Go into the save folder and find the saved game you want to change. Here is a link to a download if you want to know more. http://rapidshare.com/files/249292741/Reinforcements.rar This link is broke, if anybody wants this file let me know

Thanks, very useful information to know :) Now i have even more reasons to replay the levels.

Also it's handy to add in the airstrike when the current level didn't used to have it - Makes some of those german swarms a bit easier to deal with..

Your welcome. I didn't mention this in the zip file, depending on when you saved the game some of your reinforcements might not be available, this is what you do.

{reinforcements
{scoreTotal 99999}
{scoreCurrent 99999}
{"avia"
{state hidden} <<< Change this into this >>> {state "-"}
{text "$/reinforcement_avia"}
{image "il-2"}
{hint "$/reinforcement_avia_tip"}
{count 150}
{score 1}
{delay 0}
{eventStart "reinforcements2_avia"}
{waypoint "2095"}
}
{"riflesquad1"
{state hidden} <<< Change this into this >>> {state "-"}
{text "$/reinforcement_riflesquad"}
{image "riflemans(rus)"}
{hint "$/reinforcement_riflesquad_tip"}
{count 500}
{score 1}
{delay 0}
{eventStart "reinforcements1_riflesquad"}

i know this is off topic, but, when the video is done and it shows all these videos the 4th or 3rd one is men of war dancing in the rain.lol. Thank you so much with this info!

Yes i managed to unlock the "hidden" reinforcements - However i wasn't able to include units from the other factions...I tried to add a Soviet tank to a German saved game, by copy/pasting the details for the reinforcement from a Soviet saved game, it loaded..But then when i tried to place the reinforcement the game crashed...But on another (german) saved game, with the same vehicle, the game crashed before loading..

How were you able to give yourself the M26?
Is there a list of units anywhere which can indicate what to enter in the reinforcement section to get certain vehicles?

Which German mission? What were you replacing? and no, there is no list. You just have to switch similar types. You can't switch a tank with a truck towing a at gun, but you should be able to switch a tank with a puma.

The final German mission is the one which never loaded, the other was Desert Stronghold.
I was trying to add (not switch) the kv_2 from the Soviet mission The Last Stand, to both of the above missions.

I've been thinking it may have something to do with the "waypoint" - All the reinforcements (except the airstrike) on Desert Stronghold are 175, but the text i copied from the Soviet mission has the kv_2 at waypoint 1932.

That's cool! Everything that I do has to do with switching one thing with another. As far as a saved game goes, I think you have to use an ID # that's already in the game.

Nokturnal

Not sure what you mean by using an ID # that's already in game..? You mean for the waypoint #?

Well i haven't actually tried replacing one unit with another, only adding and editing current reinforcements.
I was hoping you might of had a list so i wouldn't have to go through the slow process of opening up all the other saved games to look at the reinforcements then trying to copy/paste it from there. :P

For example, if i wanted to replace the unit below, would i only have to modify the sections i have highlighted in bold?

{"pz3"
{state "-"}
{text "$/reinf_pz3"}
{image pz3f}
{hint "$/reinf_pz3_h"}
{count 9999}
{score 1}
{delay 0}
{eventEnd "rnf_pz3"}
{waypoint "175"}

What did you enter for the M26?
Because i noticed on the Soviet mission, the text is different to the Germans, the units have the full word "reinforcement" in their name, not just reinf....

{"kv_2"
{state hidden}
{text "$/reinforcement_kv"}
{image kv1}
{hint "$/reinforcement_kv_tip"}
{count 5}
{score 50}
{delay 60}
{eventStart "reinforcements2_kv"}
{waypoint "1932"}

It seems that without a list of how the developers have named their tanks in the reinforcement section this requires alot of trial and error.

...How could i of gotten any further? You didn't answer any of my questions :P

Yes, i can add (same faction) units to the reinforcements...Only if i know the name.
Yes, i can add airstrike and other locked reinforcements.

I just can't add units from another side - Which is what you have done with the M26...Hence my asking..How?

The spelling is different for Soviet/German reinforcements (on the saved games i'm looking at anyway..) So again, without knowing how it is written in the file, i won't be able to get far..

----------
Edit: Thanks for editing your last post to include the text you used to convert one tank to the other...But that isn't the reinforcement section you're editing is it?..That's the actual unit itself you are changing?
Seems like you'd need to know more than just the name of the unit if you wish to convert one to the other like that..

Unless you are just copy/pasting that info from another game's saved file..Then copying over the existing tank? So a medium Soviet tank would still be displayed as a medium soviet tank in the reinforcement section..But when you deploy it, it's an M26?..

Sorry for all the questions, but it started off sounding easy..Now sounds like hours of work just to figure out what to enter for what unit... :P Not sure it's worth it, but the initial advice on adding/unlocking reinforcements was handy :)

Nah it's not working..I tried copy/pasting it exactly, i tried adding in the spaces (by using tab) the same way as it's displayed in the text file..
I even tried changing every mention of the word "t26" to "m26"..But i think this trick is a bit beyond my limited capabilities when it comes to toying with game data files...

I'll just stick with adding airstrikes and allowing hidden reinforcements to be used :) Thanks for all the help though.

That's the ID#s I was talking about. When you call up a t26 this is the one you get. So if you want to change it to something else you have to use those #s, and these {Position 1057.7 3246.41 74.48}
{xform zl 44.81 y 2.27 zw -96.97}

{Entity "t26" 0xa021

}

}

}
}

That's right it isn't the reinforcement section, to get a different vehicle to deploy when you call for reinforcements you have to completely switch it with another and use those ID#s, and you have to have that vehicles text, for example;

{Entity "jagdtiger" 0x81a3
{Position 570.08 3228.46}
{xform zl 50.7 y 0.58 zw -95.27}
{TexMod
{"/entity/-vehicle/tank_heavy/jagdtiger/jgdtiger" "d"}
}
{Volume "ram"
{able {visible 0}{bullet 0}{obstacle 0}{contact 0}{contact_ground 0}{blast 0}{select 0}{touch 0}}
}
{Extender "enumerator"
{number 702}
}
{Player 1}
{CapturedByUser}
{MID 353}
{Weaponry
{Current "mgun2"}
{State "mgun1"
{Weapon "mg34" filling "ptr" "ammo" 9999999999}
}
}
{Chassis
{MovementSpeed 0.067}
{FuelBag
{Remain 199.76}
}
{CurrentGearDir 0}
}

That means you have to go into a saved game file to get it. I have a text file on my desktop where I keep all my favorite stuff. Here is a link.

http://rapidshare.com/files/245736748/MoW.zip.html

I figured out how to display the correct vehicle on the reinforcement tab.

{"pz3"
{state hidden}
{text "$/rein_pz301"}
{image pz6e} <<< you just change this to this>>> {image m26}
{hint "$/rein_pz302"}
{count 800}
{score 6}
{delay 0}
{eventStart "rein_pz3"}
{waypoint "1345"}

Yea it's time consuming, I guess that's why most MoW gamers tend to stay away from my tips. I really like going into the saved game files and changing stuff around to suit me.
If you feel like giving it a try and you need help just post me. :)

Hey, new here. I used the reinforcement modifications and worked great, thanks! Has there been any bugs though? Since I did it and i'm on the 3rd mission, Moscow Behind us, and i've been playing 2 hours now hahaha German tanks and troops keep coming and coming, am I missing something?

Sorry if it's a n00b question

I think you have to wait until the engineers set up a mine field. Then you can fall back to the second defensive position. I said I think because I usually play until I get tired of fighting, because I messed with the saved game file and now the engineers never finish with the mines. I could start a new game but I like having my tanks.

Changing things in one saved game has no effect on another. It is possible to mess up a saved game so that it will crash, but it can't hurt another save or a new game. Just make sure you backup your file first.

Glad to hear your using the reinforcement tip!

Yeah i fat fingered a ' instead of a " and crashed the first time lol but fixed it. Can you manually set the mines?

You could but I don't think it will trigger the next objective. I think the AI engineers have to.

Can this be done to missions that originally do not have reinforcements available (i.e. 2nd Soviet SP mission where you hold off the Germans while a train is being loaded)?

Nope, but you can still change things in the saved game. Check out this pic. Most of the tanks I put in myself, well I changed something into the tanks. I even gave myself two Vicker 93mm guns.

So you put those tanks in that mission (after saving it)?

If so, could post some code example?

Changing things in a saved game is time consuming. Sometimes I spend more time in the saved game file then in the game. I have just as much fun messing with the saved game file as playing. Being able to play the missions over and over again doesn't hurt either.

Sorry, I really thought that you'd have to go into the main game file to add reinforcements into a mission that didn't have them.

I haven't figured out how to get stuff like tanks yet, but I think I'm close.
