Hi all,

On a wet Sunday I visited the RAF Memorial for Aircrew in the ETO (European Theatre of Operations) who have no known grave. Over 20,000 RAF flyers are today still missing over Europe.

The RAF flyers composed men from the Commonwealth and also occupied Europe.

The RAF lost about 120,000 aircrew in WW2.

The RAF Memorial is a sombre place.

I will let the pictures speak for themselves.

These RAF flyers came from not only Britain but also from around the world to fight for freedom.

Best Regards,
MB_Avro.

Do not forget them please.

Lest we forget.

Indeed. Thanks for that Avro, it was moving to see. My mother's first husband was lost over the Channel in a Hurricane in mid-1940 and his body was never recovered. Sombre though it may be, it's important that they shall be remembered. Thank you for taking the time to photograph the memorial.

Thanks for taking the time to post these Avro, as you say very sombre but very moving stuff too. Remembered with much affection and pride, and may it always be so.
