Hi I am an Australian and I just purchased 7.62mm from Ebay Australia, the item came from Singapore.
Now every time I play the game, It crashes, and I get a message from windows saying "this game has done something very, very bad and we killed it".
I am about an hour into the game, in a shootout with some guards of the former mayor, but regardless of game position it crashes in every gunfight.
I used the German patch and still crashes.
I run max setting, I have Vista 32bit, AMD x64 2.7,
ATI Radeon HD 3870, 4 GB Ram, running on a Full HD 40inch screen at 1920x1080p.

Windows Vista and 7 is here but u make a game for XP?

Vista's a PoS and W7 was just released, so most certainly bugged to the core aswell... that sentence shows how clueless you are about the number of persons who still use XP :confused:

As for 7.62, yes there's some problems that needs to be fixed... but I doubt anyone will tend to help you if that's how you ask... just my 2 cents.

The community is working on fixing the game as much as possible, and we're even getting help sometimes. Instead of ranting and yelling, maybe you could ask a question, and thus get a real answer :)

i found some crashes in game when where talking to ppl in game,opening the strategic map and various spots more that corrup the 7.62 exe the saves are well so the only mean to continue playing is remove the game and install again. then using the old saves.
Another major bugs its related to the launchers (mean the VOG 30,M203 underbarrel launcher and the M79 also the (underbarrel knight masterkey shotgun (12 gauge)) no way to load ammo in those underbarrels like drag and drop the correct ammo over the wapon with the underbarrel like in Brigade E5, if its another way to reload a underbarrel thing the manual dont say nothing about.
also i found a couple differents 40 m.m grenades like the M397,406 both HE and the 407 (smoke) this supossed all for the M203 launcher so as 40 mm i supouse too usefull for the M79.
the divergence comes with the pact materials the launcher its the VOG 30 unable to find other launcher of 40 m.m in the 95 day of game and the grenades 40 m.m are the VOG 25 and VOG 25p are supossed for the VOG 25 launcher? i ask where its the catch?
its this a bugg or simply they have forgotten to implement the underbarrels?
All fans of brigade E5 know the precious save of time that its have a undebarrel launcher loaded, to have to put the weapon in the shoulder, take a greanade, launch the grenade, and again get the weapon of the shoulder an ready again.
so i found very urgent the team of appeiron to look at this and make something fast please.

another issue found its at the entrance in a sector with a vehicle some times mercs gets stuck in the vehicle and cannot move from there in any way.
more; some missions completed stay remain in the folder of actuals instead of move into folder completed when you done a couple of missions completed you can only review some that the screen show not all the completed missions so when you fill all the screen show in actuals they fail to show any new mission that you get.
people that you meet have a separate dossier with updates of this person same problem, when this screen fills up dont show any more person that already meet so you miss up useful info for this person.

I've done you the service of CopyPasta this from the other thead in this forum. I wonder why you dint bother to look there:)

The 1024x768 resolution is flawed from the start so I suggest you use a different one.
First: The "leave sector" and "black screen" bugs can be fixed by setting all files in your 7.62\BMP\HUP\ to Read-Only. There are several files in the sub folders, so I recommend you do this once and then zip up a handy back-up if a re-install is needed later.

Do this to fix the grenade/shotgun issue
Secondly: There are some issues with the english localisation that leave a few things untranslated in your 7.62\ini\items\ folder. The files are: ADDONINFO and WEAPONINFO. Just open them with notepad and search for the cyrillic letters. In the ADDONINFO file it's mostly the "mm" for the grenades that has been left untranslated. There is also some issues with the rpg-6 and 7. There is already some hotfixes available made by fans for these issues.

In ADDONINFO, change the cyrillic entries to these:

"40 ìì" -> "40 mm"
"40 ìì (ðóñ.)" -> "40 mm (RUS)
"12 êàëèáð" -> "12 caliber"
"40 ìì (ÐÏÃ-7)" -> "40 mm (RPG-7)
"ÑÂ98" -> "SV98"

Thirdly: There is a file in your 7.62\InventoryINI\ file that need to be fixed so that a third of the enemies in random encounters actually has a weapon when the battle starts. The file is Bandit_ser.inv. There is an "S" on the first line that needs to be removed.

You can d/l another fix from here to avoid CTD's when using automatic fire:

Some missions are meant to stay in the current mission tab, they are there to remind you that you have a discount at a certain trader. It was the same in the Russian version.

I haven't noticed the issue you have with the "screen filling up", it could have to do with your current resolution and might get fixed if you change that.

You always have a chance of getting out from under the car, you just need to find the right place to left-click.

Anyway, I admit that you SHOULD'NT have to fix by yourself a game you paid for. Now, that's how it is, love it or leave it...
If you'd eventually decide to try and fix it, then you know where to look and ask for help.
The game itself is well worth it, and that's why some of us are trying to make it good for everyone else instead of selfishly fixing our own install.

I got the game this weekend, from gamersgate, and Im really trying to enjoy it. But it aint easy: if I knew I was buying such an unfinished, rushed, bugged piece of software, I would have spent my money on something else. The game shows a lot of potential, and at first I was really impressed. Now Im just feeling a little robbed. So I cant recommend this game in its current state: if you are reading this while deciding to buy or not this game: dont do it before they fix it.


Now that I got that out of my chest, please kind people of this foruns, see if you can help me:

I got that mission in Sagrada where you are supposed to protect the local arms dealer from some bandits ("The Racket", I guess). I went to that Ramon guy who hides with his gang nearby (I understood these were the bandits, still not sure) and killed than all, leaving a save from before the battle.

After that, I went back to the dealer to get my reward, only to find out he had already been killed and the mission was already failed.

Funny thing: if I restore that savegame from before I attack Ramon, a few seconds later I get "mission failed" anyway and the dealers is already dead.

Worst part: killing Ramon or not, I cant leave Sagrada anymore: the game will CTD right after getting to the map screen. I tried the "first" fix described above, but nothing changes (I was supposed to have done it before, maybe?).

Any hints? I have yet to try reinstalling the game, I guess that will be my next step.

Hey Elias

The Racket mission is one of those that stays in your current mission tab and it gives you a discount at the trader in that town. I think you're killing the wrong guys in this mission. When you accept it from the trader, a few neutral characres gets spawned at the entry points, and they start walking towards the trader. They are neutral to you so you have to right click first to get the shoot icon before you engage them. Your goal is to protect the trader, so stay close to him and wait fort them to gat within shooting distance. There'll be 3-5 hostiles, when they're dead, talk to the trader again, and Bob's your uncle.

The CTD's you're experiencing can be fixed by setting all your files in the \BMP\HUD\ sub-folders to read only. You need to do this after a new install, when the files are uncorrupted. Otherwise you'll be using the corrupted ones.

Well yes, the game has alot of problems in it's actual state, but R@S22 and myself are fixing as much as we can actually, and some others are doing it aswell.

I have the same problem like GAZA76,I got game crushed during every fight...almost. and I also bought it in Singapore:grin:
but,I'm using XP,and my computer is not very good. I hvae 2140 for cpu ,8600GT GPU. 2G memory. I use low resolution since someone told me that 1024*768 is flawed. I turn down all the effect ,but nothing changed..

Do you use the unofficial patch and have you set the TGA files to read-only?

I did use that patch,But I' vn't set these TGA to read only.....

This black-screen problem is making my life a complete misery. It wrecked my first game and now, after uninstalling and reinstalling, it's wrecked my second game.

Never mind. Figured it out eventually.

For all you PC Semi-Literate folks like myself out there, the following way might be the way forward.

From windows start menu:

<CLICK> My computer
<CLICK> Drive C (or whatever drive the game installed itself in)
<CLICK> program Files (or whatever folder the game installed itself in)
<CLICK> 1C Company (this is a folder)
<CLICK> 7.62 - High Calibre (this an icon)
<CLICK> BMP (folder)
<CLICK> Hud (folder)

This opens up several sub-folders. You'll need to go through each of these one by one. Some of these folders also have other sub-folders within. Again you have to go through these as well. A few of these folders open directly into files.

Either way, when you finally get to the files within these folders you need to either select the file directly, if theres only one, or if there are several, you select them as a group by:

<CLICK> Organise - (on the top bar menu - Windows Vista only. Can't remember the equivalent on XP)
<CLICK>Select All

Then to make the files read only:

<CLICK>Organise
<CLICK>properties
<CLICK>read-only
<CLICK>Apply
<CLICK>Okay

Then on to the next folder until all the files are done.

At least that's way I did mine. No black-screens yet, fingers crossed.
