Hi Oleg, could you tell us at the current level your at with this development whether the game engine runs significantly better with Nvidia cards running in SLI mode, we have seen that even most recent game releases only show a marginal FPS increase when running dual/triple/quad setups. Or are you not at that stage yet.
Hi Tree,
That's a great question. Personally, I think multi-GPU performance lies with the technology of the hardware makers, not the game developers. Otherwise how is it that, as you say, "even most recent game releases only show a marginal FPS increase when running dual/triple/quad setups."(?) Lucid's Hydra hardware shows promise at scaling multiple GPUs to nearly 100% regardless of software (games). Neither Crossfire nor SLi do that at present (claim that sort of scaling regardless of the game title).
Again, personally speaking, I'd rather go the better-value route and buy a good single GPU. Both major card companies hype the multi-GPU solution. But it's just that: marketing hype. I doubt you'll see anyone respond here stating that they went SLi or Crossfire and doubled their FPS in IL2 or in any recent games. Too much on the web to show otherwise.

There's lots of discussion about this. I searched "SLi and Crossfire", and here's the results of that search: http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/search.php?searchid=464915

here's one that is most recent (please read the sections on "Power consumption & Cost", and the "Conclusion": http://www.overclockersclub.com/reviews/crossfire_vs_sli/
If nothing else, it's not on Oleg, as I said.

Infact there will be more posts doing so, true or not, than people actually admitting they wasted hundreds of bucks by falling for marketing tricks. ;)

But looking at DCS:Black Shark and Rise of Flight, performance increase on multiple CPU/GPU systems is remarkable. I see no reason why SoW should stand behind. Don't forget that IL2 was released when multicore-processors were still under development!
I say, old chap, you won't find anyone running Black Shark in multi-GPU mode who will say it's worthwhile. Most seem to disable SLi mode, but then what's the point? Now some claim success in running it on multicore CPUs with affinity software tweaks yields benefits, but that's just CPUs. No-go on multi-GPUs. Here's a link to 4 pages of search results for "SLi or Crossfire" from over at DCS:Black Shark: http://forums.eagle.ru/search.php?searchid=1413712&pp=25

Many calls of "No joy" with multi-GPU usage. I think you'll find the same for LOMAC and IL2.
