View Full Version : Stay away from patch 1.7

I'm pretty sure 1.7 is one of those patches that should be avoided. As far as I can tell, it offers a few tweaks, fixes nothing, and BREAKS several things.

I installed it after my first time through the game. On the first run through, I had no problems the whole way through. After 1.7, a couple of items like the Jackboots can't be suppressed, Dreghen (and other characters I guess) won't talk to me, etc. I oughta know better by now...

(Dreghen is the guy you talk to to fight double. One of the more interesting fights in the game, I've been gearing up for several levels to fight him, I get there, and- nothing! Gotta reinstall sans 1.7.)

You must have a serious problem with your installation of 1.7 because I use it and didn't saw any problem with removing items, but ok I didn't tried with Jackboots (never used it so no reason to remove it). And I get the fights from Dreghen with no problem.

No, there are several people with 1.7 patch problems of various kinds. My game crashes 100% of the time now when loading Islands of Freedom.

I have no problems with 1.7 as well. However, I still can't get the game to show a clock rather than Morning/Daytime/Evening/Night... That's the only thing I don't like :)

I have the Steam version of patch 1.7 and am having the same problem: program crashes when trying to go to Island of Freedom (after asking Kitano). Other people are also complaining about this and other similar issues in the Steam KB:TL forum.

Sigh, me too. Is there a way to uninstall 1.7?

I don't know if the problems I'm having are related to v1.7 or Steam, but the game will completely freeze my computer 100% of the time. The only way to escape this state is to reboot the computer.

I can only get between 1-45 minutes worth of play before the computer seizes up and I have to reboot. Unacceptable.

Phooey.

Just how long until this issue is patched? This is getting rediculous.
