cheat codes and trainers

can`t get the cheat codes to work shift+~ gets the console but typinging in the various codes and pressing enter does nothing I`ve also tried the cheathappens trainer followed all trouble shooting notes but no good can someone help please my os is vista 32

That's strange, be sure that you are useing english, really can't advice anything, as I didn't hear about such problems.
