Hello,
I am having some texture issues in IL2 which I recently purchased off Steam.
I have had a look around and found suggestions for turning the Catalist AI to standard which I have, sadly this does not seem to have helped. Also set AA etc to application decide.
My system Specs:
Windows XP - Fully up to date
ATI 4870 1gb
C2D 6750
4GB Ram (No XP does not detect it all :P)
Abit P35 Mobo

If anyone has encountered the issue and solved it I would appreciate any help you can give.
Bandanner, I recognise the first screenshot with the geometric shape as I have experienced that before too, not the second one though. I turn off Catalyst AI COMPLETELY on my 4870X2, and set AA4x AF2x "box filter". This made the craziness go away. there was also an issue when firing guns I would get a "Purple-blueish" muzzle flash lighting effect when firing. If you get that too it can be solved by unchecking the vertex arrays boxes in IL-2 setup. You did not mention which drivers you are using?

I have turned that off completely and also changed the AA & AF settings as suggested but this does not seem to have made any difference.
I'm running Catalyst 9.3 on the card.
I've not had the purple/blue muzzle flash you speak of as yet though.

Ok, your confi file appears to be pretty much identical to mine. I did however notice that you have the Processaffinitymask set for 4 cores, when according to your specs you only have 2 working cores? I have no idea if this could cause the problem but maybe its worth a try. Is your cooling sufficient and have you checked your GPU temperature? Its the most common cause of corruption when things are running too hot I believe. I am running 9.1 with no problems, cannot speak for 9.3. I can't think of anything else mate, but I'm not the worlds greatest techie. Hopefully someone else can help you out. Good luck ;)
Edit: Are you overclocking at all? Maybe this could cause problems, but I'm no expert.

Hmm I will check that, I copied part of it from another forum post so i will alter that.
Cooling is fine, I keep the monitor up in game and have not had any issues. I may try rolling back to the 9.1 catalyst see if that helps.

Edit: In relation to overclocking I had the auto overdrive set but removing that made no difference. Not had any issues in any other games.

I have a 4670 ATI Radeon HD card and have problems getting water=2 and up. If I set water=2 (OpenGL) I get goodlooking water if I force the shaders. Then, after a while, I get graphicbugs. Like spikes, and odd colours. Never had a single problem with my previous Nvidia 8600GT card...If I run water=1 I get water, not so good looking but working without bugs...Anyone knows why IL-2 don´t like ATI cards?
EDIT: After some more testing, I still get graphicerrors even with water=0...IL-2 is unplayable now..What can be done to fix this? I tried different DLL´s, not fixing it...
What´s strange is that this graphicanomolies does not show up at the beginning. It takes like 5 minutes, then I suddenly see a large line in the horizion and other triangles shapes with
different colours. I also see the purple muzzle flash..I don´t have issues like this with other games. I tried turning off CCC, but then the game crashed after 5 minutes.
I am running latest Catalyst driver. (9.4). The overall fps with my card is good so it´s annoying when this happens. Water in Lock On FC works like a charm, so there must be something about IL-2 and ATI that does
not match properly...

The two image files take me to what appears to be Image Shack, where there are adverts which open new Firefox windows without asking. If I use task manager to shut these processes, which show as separate in the taskbar (in Vista, if that matters), the original Firefox window closes as well. This is not the way that legitimate advertisements ought to behave in my view, is there some risk these are viruses?

Those images look exactly like when my graphics card used to overheat, may not be your problem but they look identical to what I used to see.
