I know this Can is used to recharge the Spirit but I'm curious why he's suggests to put something I don't need into the black circle... This dialogue option appears only once when U visit him for the first time. Full conversation here:

So did I missed something or he's just explaining how to recharge the spirit?

It is only explanation, you can only recharge Ice Spirit with it.
