Pilot training provider and flight simulator developer CAE Inc. (TSX:CAE, NYSE:CGT) will spend $714 million on a five-year research and development program that will create or maintain 1,000 jobs.
The company said "Project Falcon" is aimed at expanding its current modelling and simulation technologies, developing new ones and increasing its capabilities beyond training into other areas of the aerospace and defence market.
The federal government is participating in the funding with a repayable investment of up to $250 million.
"Innovation is essential for CAE in order to sustain its leadership position in modelling, simulation and training," president Robert Brown said in a statement.
"We will therefore continue to invest in R&D, even in these challenging times."
CAE will expand its research and development initiatives in its traditional training markets, including simulation and modelling for new types of aircraft, unmanned vehicles and replacement models for current aircraft.
It will also develop networking technologies to allow defence forces in different countries to participate simultaneously in real-time training and mission rehearsal exercises.
CAE provides simulation and modelling technologies and integrated training solutions for the civil aviation industry and defence forces around the globe.
It has about 7,000 employees and annual revenues exceeding $1.4 billion.........
I wonder If they'd lend Oleg the code?
Edit !
Maybe someone should introduce The Canadian DND, to OleG!!
