If I was thinking of creating a dedicated IL-2 Server, what would that require? Type of computer, software, etc.

Also, I've played a lot of IL2 on HyperLobby and there are sooo many types of servers, what do people want? Personally, I'm a fan of more realistic cockpit only types and historical planesets. I've used Wings over Europe server and the points system encourages (it seems to me) people to fly in a more realistic manner.

I'd like some feedback from the community as to what kind of missions, theaters, aircraft, server rules etc.

I imagine I'm re-inventing the wheel here, so if you have a favorite server, please let me know that as well. Maybe there is one out there already!

Hi

I hope the following helps you get started.

The server interface commanders run the dedicated servers configurations and online stats, its your preference which one you choose to use.
There's plenty of reading to be done with both of them to get them running . :)

PC Specs

As a minimum (depending on map type & amount of pilots)
XP home/pro (Sp3)
2.2 ghz processor
1 gb ram
Hard drive 50gig 7200 rpm (10,000rpm preferred)
video card (not neccessary)
Internet 2mb up 500kbs down

Dedicated server software
