Well, at risk to sound repetitive with the SCW theme...

I've been glad to know in the last update that Oleg is modelling a He-59 for BoB with such high detail. Most spanish simmers have been also happy to know that this never before made plane will get into BoB.

This plane was used in Spain specially in night road and railway attacks. They flew almost freely along the mediterranean coast and surely it's the main reason that forced the Republican Air Force to create a night fighter squadron.

So I feel that I must post this here, about the spanish combat that He-59 sustained:
http://www.network54.com/Forum/394728/message/1235755008/Los+Heinkel+He-59+en+la+G.C.+en+MODELISMO+E+HISTORIA
It's in spanish, but there are lots of pictures anyway. ;)

With this plane in SCW, there will be 5 planes in BoB that flew in SCW. The other are the Bf-109E (Will we have E-1 and E-3?), the Dornier Do-17 and the Fiat BR-20. I do not count the He-111 so E version had a so different appeal.
I think there will be also a Tiger Moth.

All them are from the same side, the nationalist one, except the Tiger Moth (some flew for both sides).

So there's a big interest not only on these, but also on the modelling tools that Oleg said he will release shortly after the launch of BoB.

With these tools, I think we can do a lot of work to create a Spanish Civil War expansion, that includes planes to be used in other expansions, like Polikarpov I-16, Fiat CR-32, Tupolev SB-2, Polikarpov R/Z, He-111E, Savoia-Marchetti SM-79 Sparviero...

The effort some of us made in a perished project for Targetware is not lost. At least we kept the info we grabbed. Just waiting better times to get to the surface :)

If you look at the latest 109 picture from Maddox it sais that it is a E3. Would love a SCW add-on as well but first I want BoB. And be honest, you're going to fly the su26 all the time anyway ;)

True, I recognise I will barely move from the Su-26 cockpit at first! :)

Nice to have that E-3... and, uh, I forgot to name the Stuka.

Obviously I also want BoB first as everybody. :)

Its a shame SOW didn't actually start out with SCW.

Unfortunately the fan boy pressure online is always to move sims forward to newer faster planesets, meaning the likelihood of a SCW addon is not high.

SCW would not be easy... there were a lot of random planes being used, and almost none have name recognition of Spitfire, for example. Can't see it happening, pity there was a great Spanish campaign for Il-2 that I really enjoyed.

It had nothing to do with fanboy pressure. Its very obvious marketing. Lets see which would make more money...BOB which has instant recognition or SCW with has almost none. Go figure....

I want Korea first ;)

According to the interview translation, RRG have been enslaved to BoB, though :(

One can“t trust planes without props!!!!
These modern things and modern music are leading to perdition.

The words "Chato", "Mosca"/"Rata" or "Messer" sounds more at least in Spain, than Spitfire, that never saw service here.

Even with a real on flight Chaika nowadays based near Barcelona, lots of non related to aviation people come to see it and constantly name it as Chato or Mosca. Once they heard from our grandpa these two names as republican fighters, it's part of the popular memory and for every time one expert specifies it's a Chaika, there are 10 replies that it's a Chato or even a Mosca. I suppose this phenomenon only succeeds in Spain, not on other countries, but I found it funny to observe.

Ther's the tendency to think that any SCW based game, no matter a simulator or what, will be an echonomical disaster. I'm still wondering what will happen, specially after the really great success I saw of an RTS that focuses only on SCW.

About the topic at all, years ago (6 years ago, how fast passes time!) I requested on Ubi forums SCW for Il-2 as a fanboy request any other thing.

Now Im not requesting; I've only named planes of BoB that were common with SCW and I showed interest on the developing tools to work on that. ;)

And I suspect this exactly what is going to happen: once the SDK is made available if you can assemble a SCW Dev Team and begin working on the missing pieces (I-153, I16...there was recently a development screenshot of a I-15, but I could not say for sure if it was Il2 or SoW!), and obviously the Spanish landscape and airfields, there will be a SCW add-on! You could even envision making it for some money, especially if your feeling for the local market is really good: after all the SCW has much more importance in the minds of the Spaniards than the BoB, so I can imagine a kind of landslide-like interest for a simulation, as it would really be an absolute first!

Your team will have real good arguments into proceeding with the exercise I believe!

Amically,

I just realized that SoW:BoB also has an Autogiro Lacierva
