I must say:
1. The video was nice, looked like bits of IL-2, but the buildings looked nicer, some of the plane skins looked more realistic, was this a composit of several videos / engines?
2. The Audio was indeed compelling, subtle, and provided a nice backdrop resulting in the experience being more than the sum of the parts
3. Will this be out before the 2010 SOW release?
4. WELL DONE INDEED !

I wish there was a direct download link... I'd liek to be able to download the video to a local machine so I can watch it without all the youtube stops...
How about the mission file... I'd love to have all airshow scenery and planes!
Finally, what type of PC and IL-2 settings are you using to get such a beautiful effect? Everything is so crisp, clear, and life like...
Incredible. I've loved every one of your vids. Thanks.

I think this whole video was done in IL-2 using many of the current mods.
If you're using Fire Fox you can add a plugin called Download Helper to download all sort of videos.
http://www.downloadhelper.net/
Oh forgot one more thing, many of the videos are in .flv format so you'll need a player as well.

:arrow:Thanks again folks....this movie is all il2 , with a fat dose of AAA mods , the most significant of which has got to be the Pat smoke and camera mod , giving thoes static camera veiws from the aicraft , I always try and use the most realistic lookin skins such as Nightshifters , Shooters , Vp , ect , because there attention to detail helps take the finished product one step closer to realisim and means I can also get in closer with the camera shots....Anywho....
Ill be uploading the full screen version in the next couple of days and if you want the engine sounds for your game , you can get them via a link in the "more info" section of the utube page,

Very well done, java! Seldom saw such an attention to detail depicting an air show . Everything, from the crowd, the way the aircraft are placed, the way they fly in the air and interact with each other, the background sounds the way the cameras on the grounds are placed the use of cameras in the air; all give that distinct impression of attending an air show or watching a newsreel about it. And the sounds of those aircraft! My god! I actually could hear the distinct differences between the different marks of Spitfires. It all brought shivers down my spine because the movie gives a good impression of what air shows could have been if more of those fine thoroughbreds would have been saved in an airworthy state. If nothing else this movie is a fitting tribute to all those planes depicted in it really gives a sense of the sheer technical masterpieces they once were.
Awesome work, Java. Nothing else to say about it.

Downloading now, finally. Too many people must have been going after this at the same time.
I must say again how this film is one of the most extraordinary Il2 movies I have ever seen. No combat, no action, but it is so close to being real, just like an airshow with old warbirds we all love. Fantastic.

I used the link in the YouTube description. It took many tries, but I finally got it to work. I think it may be due to the volume of downloads on it today.
Now that I have the files, I put them into the folders like I thought the readme said, but now Il2 won't load past 5%. What's that all about?
About my avatar. It is a very funny movie, but I have since lost the link for it. I had it downloaded on my HD at one time, but no more. Where to find it? PM me.
So...who got these sounds to work? Anyone? Please let me know how you did it. The instructions in the readme are forgetting about the "startups" folder, and is saying to delete the entire samples/presets folder before installing his? What about the gunfire files in there?

Sorry choctaw111, don't have the original movie. I found out it's part of the "Minuscule" series from tv. Just saw it again on youtube and had a good lough again. Just type "Minuscule ladybug" and you will find that one and a lot more funny ones from Minuscule.
About the link, did you use spaces in the last part of the link or did you write it all in one piece? In the movie it is written with spaces.
Thanks

I got them to work allright. I made a copy of the samples and presets folders. Then I copied the prs files from Jafa's mod to the presets/sounds folder and the wav files to the samples folder. They work ok, but I will not use all of them. The in cockpit sounds are very nice and i am considering to use them. The external sounds of the bombers are better too, but the external sounds of the fighters are not so good. Somehow the are not as clear as the unified installer v1.0 soundmod and there is also a sort of distortion because you can hear the sounds of the other aircraft nearby to loud. To each his own but this is my opinion.
Good luck.

Man do I stay corrected! I only installed part 2 of the mod because I thought part 1 was the older version. It is not! I have installed the whole mod and I am much more satisfied about it now. There are real gems between them and especially the merlins sound very good and do not sound so repetitive now. I wil give this much more time to scrutinize! The only minor thing is the fact that you can still hear planes in the vasinity much clearer now which is distortive.

Please ... do not use the movie link , it is long since dead , use the link in the "more info" section of the utube page , and you must download both rar files to get the complete package.
As a basic guide to anyone wanting to install these sounds....
1. You must have the sound mod from AAA.
2. Only deleat coresponding files , ie , if you want to install my merlin sounds , deleat all previous merlin wav's and Prs and install mine , do NOT deleat all of your Wav and Prs files.
Lastly ... though I am chuffed to bits at the response to my movie and sounds , I do not think that here at 1c is the right place to be openly dicussing these mods , so if you need any help please Pm me at my utube site and ill do my best to get you sorted

This a great video to show off the mods, Jafa, well done.
We've added it as one of the best IL2 movies to http://flightsimmachinima.montydan.com/2009-movies
It's a really quiet time just now for IL2 moviemaking, Jafa, and you are one of the very few that I know producing high quality movies. Your last movie Nordic Revenge is also featured as one of the best for 2008.
There are a few new moviemakers making tentative steps in the business. I do hope your work and the past work of the old hands who have moved onto different ventures will inspire more to take up this rewarding hobby.

From: http://flightsimmachinima.montydan.com/2009-movies
This is not a true statement:
Twighlight of the Gods by Doktorkop
This is the first ever IL2 movie to successfully integrate CGI humans to produce a creative and engaging story. A moving story about Luftwaffe pilots in the closing period of WW2. Even though the Luftwaffe had the awesome Me-262 "Schwalbe" turbojet fighter, they were facing insurmountable odds of Allied bombers and prop fighters. This is the story of two of these pilots.
Doktorkop did his first movie with CGI effects long time ago:

:arrow:DoolittleRaider,Joe, thanks very much , as ive already said , im quite surprised at the level of interest in a ten minute movie with NO action in it.
With regards to MMF , im not deliberatly not posting there , the fact is im very busy trying to sort out everyones instalation problems with my sounds, soon as this is done ill upload fullsceen version to download at MMF(two weeks.LOL).
For shure there dosnt seem to be any new material coming from the big guns or the peashooters at the mo , being part of the competition last year showed how much talent is out there , most of which are producing nothing which is a shame.
cheers

No problem, Jafa. Do keep up the good work!
Thor, the statement is a subjective judgement by the panal at Flight Sim Machinima, quote "This is the first ever IL2 movie to successfully integrate CGI humans".
While it is true that doktorkop has used CGI humans before, the integration was not of a high enough standard to be accepted on FSM.
We have very high standards on the site as we want the whole community and the outside world to see only the best of the best. There are also a whole lot of my own movies that were not judged to be of a high enough standard.

Ah, ok then Joe.
Thanks for the explanation.
Is there a description of what is considered a movie on your site? And if so I have probably missed it lol.
DoolittleRaider
02-28-2009, 05:40 PM
...
Is there a description of what is considered a movie on your site? And if so I have probably missed it lol...
I'm sure Joe will respond, but I'm also sure he won't mind if I weigh in with a comment or three in the interim. The decision to place a Movie at FSM is subjective. The "Board of Directors" of FSM, consisting of seven individuals with wide and varied experience, but with a common interest in IL2 movie-making, discuss any nominated movie at length, taking into consideration such factors as:
Originality
Cinematography
Editing
Story/Screenplay
Use of Filters
Use of Visual FX
Use of Sound FX (and/or Sound Mods)
Sound Tracks (Music, dialogue, Mixing)
Longevity...Will it stand the test of time (Is it worth viewing more than just once, twice, or many times)
Icons: A very specific factor, the presence of Icons, subtitles, HUD, on-line text conversation, uncropped Fraps Logo, uncropped ping indicators, etc etc, etc, automatically disqualify a movie from inclusion at FSM.
The deliberation is subjective in that there are no points tallied per category/factor, no rating scales, no relative weighting of factors, etc. The final decision is by Concensus of the Board, with Joe 90 having the final decision. The strongest aspect(s) of each movie selected is usually expressed in the Text Synopsis for the movie at FSM.
Similarly, the Oleg's are awarded subjectively, after discussion, when some aspect (or many) of a particular movie are deemed to be especially noteworthy, and explained in the simple narrative accompanying the award.
Hope that helps a bit to understand the process.

Excellent job Jafa as always
but you know what would've been awesome?
that some pilot get mad at other for flying to close and that initiates a fight! yeah, right in front of the people!
JU-88 colliding with the B-29, spitfire squadron chasing the P-51's, F4U and P-40's truning with the A6M's
F4F's desperate trying to get airborne before the fight ends, 109's and 190's getting alt to avoid the skirmish
:)
ok just kidding, excellent job, a must download
