Does anyone know how to set a custom resolution of 1920x1080 in the demo (english version)?

In the game settings I only have a max resolution of 1650x1050 available. I have tried editing the config file to the following: Resolution = "1920x1080" with no success. Once I edit the config file, the dx10 version will no longer launch, but the dx9 version will but with the resolution changed back to 800x600.

I know this engine must support higher resolutions. Anyone have any ideas?

Why you want to play it in such high resolution?? I am playing it on 1280x1024 and it looks pretty cool!!( my pc is not powerful enough for any higher resolution than 1280x1024)

If possible, I play all of my games at 1920x1080 because it is the native resolution of my DLP television. It looks much better if you can maintain 1080p instead of using a lower res.

The visual setting screen for Necrovision is the same as Painkiller so I believe it is using a newer version of the Pain engine. I know for a fact that I played Painkiller at 1920x1200 on a Samsung 24" LCD back in the day. This should not be a big problem.

Νecrovision graphics are way better than painkiller if you play it on max settigns. It is on par with Crysis.....

Does anyone know if the final retail version of the game supports high resolutions such as 1920x1080?

"Why you want to play it in such high resolution??

Because todays gfx cards doesnt perform very good at low resolutions, like im on a GTX470 1280MB and no matter what game i run the fps starts to drop massively when i go below the 1600x1200 resolution.

Even on my old cards (2x GF8800GTS 320MB) i had severe FPS impacts going in low res.

Also by todays measure 1920x1080 isnt that "high" really, even the low-budget 22" TFT widescreens is at least 1680 wide and almost any 24" wide u get out there will be 1920 wide or even more.

The game supports higher resolution indeed, but not thru the ingame settings though which is actually weird, but they prolly had their reasons to make it so.

The solution is to set the resolution manually in the scr-file the game use to store GFX settings in.

1. Go to the games installdir [installDir]/4x4hummer/Data
2. Create a new txt-file on your desktop and open it*
3. Drag the file VideoSettings.scr to the txt-file u just opened
4. Set the different values to your likings
5. Press CTRL+S or go to "File>>Save" to save your changes.

*You may not be able to open the scr-file directly and therefore i put in the solution with dragging it into an existing txt-file.

Note: Remember to set the refresh as well or the game wont run.
Also you cant change gfx settings in-game without your newly created resolution will be reset by the game.

This solution worked well for me, im now running in 1600x1200@72hz (old CRT).
