What features of the demo would you need to see before deciding to buy the game ( remember , you have to answer this question as a gamer , not a flight sim/IL2 fanatic)

Dont ask for too much , remember , its a demo!

For this game to be a huge hit on Xbox from my understanding it has to include some good multiplayer to build a community around the game.

Most XBL gamers would be pleased with demo something like this i believe

-Probly just 1 map area to fight in.
-and a simple selection of planes ( p51 or p40 , bf109 , mig 3)

But the most important thing to show people with this title is HOW it appeals to everyone , so here are what the host options should look like to cater to the casuals and the hard core.

Server settings
-Player limit (2-8)
-Private match (yes/no)
-Force realism of host player (yes/no)
-Take off and landing for ammunition ( yes/no )
* let me clarify this , IMO it would be a great idea to let the take off when the game starts and let the player land at his base to reload for ammo , but any campers trying to get an easy kill on taxing planes will be shot down by AAA *

-Region of server (since online games use a peer to peer connection it would be nice to let players mark their server region such as US , UK , EU , ASIA , and AU so that other players can join games knowing they will play with as little lag as possible!)

Player settings (options)

-Selected realism ( this will let players who are new or veteran to flight games join games when there is no forced realism so they can just have fun at there own pace)
-Selected plane
-Region of player (US , UK , EU , ASIA , AU )

what do you guys think ?

Sorry mate, i was certain i replied the other day!

I agree with everything, well said!

I especially would like to see a region filter for Xbox Live. Being in Australia it is very frustrating getting matched with people in the USA. The lag is very bad in most games making it hard to compete.

the idea i had wasnt really much of a "filter"

as much it was a marker

Like say you bring up the server list ( if thats what the online will be like )

you will see names and infront of the names will be a little flag showing where that server is hosted from

I'll be buying regardless, but I think more in my group would be likely to pick it up at release if we had a good multiplayer demo. Objective game type, a few basic planes of all varieties (assuming we have some attack/defend bombing/escort game types?). A good MP experience sells games a lot better than a limited SP demo since *good times with friends sells games*.

I wonder if anton can comment on my idea for region selection?

That would be an amazing tool for the players who live in countries like AU and some parts of europe who dont know what kind of room they are joining

and im sure it would be easy for the devs to implement into the game

Guys, that's not up to developers.
It is solely decided by Publisher, so I cant tell you anything certain now.
I will know, when we make Final builds with region locks.

no no no , you misunderstand anton

This is an in game option to have a little flag next to your server name showing where the host is at

so that players from that area can enjoy lag free games

Oh, I see.
I'll ask then.
Probably, just ping info would be enough?

That would actually be *preferable*!
Just the number, no rating necessary or colored dots. LOL
All MP games should have that.

honestly ?

No , i dont think it would be enough

Having the player (when he makes a match) select the region he is from would be a HUGE HUGE Thing for some of the gamers from other countries that have trouble organizing matches

I know that gamers from Australia have HUGE lag issues joining games from any other country

and it would be essential imo to have the best connection possible for those people.

Not to mention it would be quite innovative on the team's part to implement something like this to help gamers choose the right rooms for better connections

And i dont really think it would be that tricky to implement into the game

They have trouble ("lag") due to distance---if connecting to another country, which obviously means anyone other than AU. ;) Distance itself is a factor in ping, but not the only one certainly.
Ping would be good because it isn't just dependent on geographical distance, but also the line condition and distance of the route itself. If there are other factors influencing the connection, ping can reflect that. I don't want to connect to someone nearby just because they're geographically closer if there are line conditions resulting in a slower ping reply.
If I see a ping of 120ms, I don't want to connect to them regardless of where they are. However, if I get 55ms, I couldn't care less. Realistically, geography will come into play though, so it will all take care of itself.

Hey thanks brothers for thinking of us people down here in Australia!!!

A region filter would be great in addition to the ping. I believe Call of Duty: World at War was one of the first games to feature a region filter. I can tell you, it was VERY well received by Aussie xbox forum members. (not sure if PS3 also had this feature?)

However, if it is something that would delay the release of the game, please don't worry about it! I want to play the single player game as soon as possible.

Usually i only play on xbl with my friends, but i will be happy to swap gamer tags with you guys once the game is released!!!
