Hi all, my rig is:

e7200@3.5ghz
Maximus Formula SE
4gb Gskill
gtx280
Vista ultimate x64

The game is great but is not smooth. Even if framerate is high and never drops, i can see microstuttering as long as i move visual.
That's really annoying.
I tried driver 181.20 and 185.20. :(

I have no stuttering at all with my GTX 280, try to close all background tasks you can when running Cryostasis, including your AV software, and defrag your HD using a software like Diskeeper Pro Premier, see if it helps.

Hi, thanks for your answer, but the stuttering i'm having is not hard disk swapping. It's clearly a graphics microstuttering.
What driver are u using?

In the firts post I just added a video done on my system. Here you can see the microstuttering i'm talking about.

I think it's the lack of optimization of the engine. I have a 8800GT and I'm running exactly like that, no matter if it's on high or low, the settings doesn't make much difference in performance, just on visuals, so I prefer to keep the game maxed out.

Yeah you are right , i have a 8800 gt and i am getting almost the same perfomance on low medium and high settigns. But it is better to play on high.

So when they are supposed to optimize the engine?

No micro stuttering here at all with the 185.20, game runs smooth as silk, with these all maxed settings i get 30 - 45 FPS.

lol wait, ive checked your video again, and played some more minutes, you mean when you quickly move the gun from one side to the other, yes i also have what you may call "micro stuttering", it "shakes" a bit, but i wonder if this wasnt intentional due to the cold or something.

The cold?!?!?!? Ahahahahah LOL. I can see it especially when i move the visual slowly. If you are right i think this shaking is not a good idea.

lol the game is so well made, the textures, the story, the extreme physX, that i just cant believe they would forget to optimize the movement of the weapon in a FPS. :-/

Are you really sure about the fps? I have the same card but I get 15-20fps, 30-40 when there´s no frost/ice/snow (In a warm room)
You have a better CPU and I play in 1920x1200 but that shouldn´t affect the fps so much, should it?

Anyway I don´t care if I don´t have higher than I have, because the motion blur makes it perfect :D Except when I´m using PPSH-41, then I have 3-8 fps :P

Well ive checked CPU usage with my G15 + Everest Ultimate, it seems Cryostasis only uses one core ? If so, there is a big difference between your CPU at 2.83 Ghz and mine at 4 Ghz, what could explain the FPS boost, considering we both have GTX 280.

LoL, ok, then it´s not very hard to understand :P
Better overclock mine :D (just joking) I don´t know enough to do that, even if I have a program, I still need to know how to do it the best way + get better cooling if I need.

Now, Action Forms, hope you have made the english version so that it uses multi-core, or else: Here´s my wish to the first patch ;)

I've bought the international version and the microstuttering and some swapping are still there.
1C do something.

Had exact same problem, SOLVED by uninstalling all Nvidia drivers in control panel, AND using Driver Cleaner Pro, then re installed 182.06.
ALSO changed 3D settings in Nvidia control panel to let "3D application decide" quality...........worked for me (Vista 32,and GTX8800 though)
