I have some very good news!!! Finaly i got Cryostasis to work!!! And did you know what was the cause of the ntdll..error??:grin: It was the sound Card!

I change the sound card accelaration to basic accelaration and the game started without any errors!!! But before i start playing the game i want you to give me some advice on how i can play the game without crashes, bugs and the best perofamnce possible!!

Nice that you got it working :)

Now you have a fantastic game experience to look forward to ;D

The only advice I can give you when it comes to performance is: Don´t play on highest settings or use a lower resolution and aa off. (That´s if you want good fps, but I had highest because I wanted it to look as great as possible)

I currently playing it with these settings: 1024x768 without AA&AF and evrything on medium. and the perfomance is good enough! Sometimes there are a few slowdowns but only for a few seconds so the game is playble... :) Now if raise the graphics settings a little bit will it playble on a low resolution?? Also i have latest gpu and Physx drivers installed! Will it work faster or look better with another driver or no?

I am on level 2 now!!! I am playing on 1024x768 high settings without motion blur AA and AF!!! And the game is playble!! What the difference between dx9 high graphics and dx 10 high graphics?? Is there a big difference??

Phyzx water exist only in DX10.
Some shaders is a bit more complex in DX10.
Most changes visible only if you look for them :)

Why without motion blur?

Ehm.. because it will affect the perfomance or no?? What exactly motion blur does? Does it makes the graphics beter??? I tested it on 1280x1024 high settings with FSAA and 16XAF and it wasnt playble! But it is playble 1024x768 high settings without motion blur AA and AF

I play most of the game without motion blurr.
Don't see much differense.

I play most of the game without motion blurr.
Don't see much differense.

But motion blur makes the game look smoother, and there are not many games that have it, but if you have 15 fps at a place, put motion blur on and it gets much better, a game is very very laggy in 15 fps, but with motion blur, your eyes don´t have to suffer.

Easier explaination: Turn your head fast in reality, then the environment gets a bit blurry, it´s the same in the game. When somthing/someone moves fast you get motion blur.

But I don´t think motion blur affects the performance at all, try to put it on, the game will feel smoother.

Still, the stutter is pretty bad.I mean, the game loads when an enemy dies,it loads when you open a door(no script sequence),and lol it stutters when you shoot....hope the new patch will bring some optimization into the game.

Don´t really know what you mean, is the game loading all the time?
It doesn´t for me, or very fast, so I don´t have time to notice it.

Is that like lagging? Then I know, it does for me too.

This is bullshit, I'm at level 15 and in this part the game is heavy as hell, I'm getting 18FPS while standing still. I can't play like this

Do you have motion blur on? Then it doesn´t feel so bad. I played with 15-20fps through the most of the game.

For me - 8800 gtx , all maxed , 1600 x 1200 or also 1080p

SM 4.0 - 15 fps

SM 3.0 - 26- 27 fps

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y117/jonelo/cryostasis2009-01-0209-48-20-29.jpg

Sometimes the framerate is lower, 10 - 12 in SM 4.0 or 16 - 18 fps in SM 3.0

Cryostasis is a pleasant surprise, I'm really enjoying this game, but the sttutering and low FPS is ruining the horror and surprise experience.

I don't have a great computer (C2D E4600, 8800GT, 2GB DDR2, Windows XP SP3), but I can tell for sure the game is not optimised at all. It runs worse than Crysis, and it doesn't have physics in all objects, dynamic shadows or high poly models. Even when I set everything to low the performance doesn't increase too much (almost the same as high), it's better to play with everything on high.

I hope they fix these performance problems for the english release, because I'm really looking foward to pay for this game

Same here ,:(
Very low fps with SLI of 8800 Ultra and Athlon X2 6400+ @ 3,4 Ghz.
I really hope they will come with a fix or Nvidia with new drivers.
I just can't play it like that, so I wait.
Does somebody knows if we can expect a patch soon?
By the way, why do we get so low fps even with much higher specs than required?
Do they lie about recommended system requirements because nobody whould buy the game if they whould tell us the true requirements
I just wonder ;)

*edit* i have an amd 64 2x 6000+ 3.4 ghz and around 12gb of ram (i do alot of visual/audio editing on it)
*edit again* also i havent been able to get past the first level because of a problem that i have posted on this same fourm ;p

What are your other system details?

I have an 8800gt with a amd phenom 9600 and 2gb ram.

On the later levels it is struggling at 1024x768 with everything set to low.

This games runs incredibly slow, at 1024 with most of the settings on High it run at under 30 FPS, then I put all the settings to the lowest still on 1024 and it actually became even slower, down to 20 FPS.

The PC is,,,
Core i7 920
HD4670
2GB RAM

The PC plays games like Crysis, UT3, Fallout3 without a problem but this game runs so slowly I can't play it. Currently using the latest drivers.

Same here. I am running the game fine on ALL high settings, SM 4.0 with no problems or dips at all in FPS.

Intel QuadCore i7 920
@ 2.67 Ghz, 6 gigs ram, nvidia260 x 1,res=1680x1050@60hz

The most important thing to remember about FPS is that somewhere between 20-30 FPS is fine; as long as it stays constant. You will only notice if your rig has considerable drops or big "swings" in FPS( i have yet to have a drop though). For example if you are playing at a constant 30 fps and then it starts to swing from 15-30 you will notice it. But if you have FPS swings of 10+ frames you will notice it. Just try to find settings that will minimize the FPS "swings".

Try turning off V-Sync. That might help some of you. I personally play with it on for better stability.

Hi

The framerate actually has nothing to do with any graphics setting except resolution and possibly v-sync as I've come to notice... at least not on my pc.
If I set it at 800x600 and everything maxed out it runs perfectly.. still it's kind of a waste since the graphics are pretty good but you can't fully enjoy it 'cause of the low res... hope this gets fixed..
I have Dual Core @ 2700 MHz , 2GB ram and HD4670 (ATI ^^)

The only things that affect my game performance are V-sync and Advanced PhysX.

If I keep V-sync ON and disable advanced physX the game runs better. But still, with everything maxed out I'm not experiencing any slow-downs.

However I have another issue with the game. After some time playing, the screen just turns black randomly (sound and controls remain) and I have to restart the game for it to work again.. No other games or programs crash this way..

I'm using 197.45 driver and 09.10.0222 physX engine. I tried the new beta driver (275.15) and the game runs HORRIBLY with it..

specs:
i7-920 2.66 @ 3.00 gHz
Nvidia GTX 975 1792 MB factory overclocked
6 Gb Ram

Just started Cryostasis and Im getting the same thing. Low FPS, lagging with all the same symptoms listed here. I'm running: Q6600@3.1, 4gbDDR2, 1920x1200 on EVGA GTX 480 and as described in the preceeding posts its running very badly. Something is up with this game. My system is pretty tight and I can run Crysis and the rest with no issues.

Funny thing is I have the official Cryostasis tech demo/benchmark installed and I pull in the area of 60 FPS AVG and it runs smooth as butter. Then I log into the actual game and its 32FPS AVG dipping at times to teens.

As described by others I can turn everything off or to its lowest setting and it has almost no impact. As one poster stated he can harldy tell a difference between high and the lowest setting. Thats exactly what I'm seeing also.

The game version I'm using is the free DLC download I got from EVGA for the GTX 480. Should be latest version and patch.

According to the little CPU monitor I'm running Cryostasis CPU usage AVG is 10.36 percent on my quad core. That is nothing. Obviously a GPU dependent game.

In any case just started trying to find out whats up with the Low FPS and ended up starting here. Gonna try some further testing and tweaking. If I can run the demo at 60 FPS avg I shouldnt be getting half that in the actual game. Gotta be something going on.

Just installed Cryostasis from GamersGate. I tried playing it but I can barely move. I have set everything at low or off, including Physx. I have turned off and on hardware acceleration (is it better on?) and nothing. I once tried to set the vertex shader to 2.0 but the game would just start with a black screen (had to manually change the config file to get it starting).

I have a more than decent system for the game. I bought it a year after it came out.

I have 4 Gb of ram, a 9600GT M, Intel Cored 2 Duo with 2.13GHz and Windows 7 64. This should easily run the game even at higher settings. I updated the graphics driver.

Has there a solution been found?
