In another thread (http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=5572) I posted a map of Haas' Labyrinth that I had used and translated the legend to English from Russian. After that, I was asked if I could translate other maps and was given a link to a Russian map tool for KB. It's quite a nice tool but entirely in Russian. I managed to translate the database file to broken English (direct translation) but you can now get the gist of what the items are. I wanted to do better as I'm a perfectionist but, unfortunately, the rest of the menus are hard-coded in the executable and, even though it's just Visual Basic, I don't have the tools or programming knowledge necessary to decompile and edit the files. An entirely new program would have to be written.
The gentleman that asked for the translation was happy to at least be able to somewhat understand the icons so I figured I would post the program for anyone else to use. Keep in mind that the UI and most menus are still in Russian, but the main functionality doesn't need any understanding or navigation to use. You simply click on icons located on the map or select a shop/npc you're searching for from the drop menu and it will show you where it is located.
TRANSLATION USAGE NOTES:
The Выход button in the upper-right means "Output" and closes the program.
The Опции button below Выход(Close) means "Options."
The Поиск button on the left under the map means "Search."
The Редактор button on the right under the map means "Editor."
- The Карта button that takes the place of Редактор when you click it means "Map."

NOTE: Included in the RAR, in addition to the map tool, are 2 documents and 1 jpg. The docs are Kings Bounty Cheats and Kings Bounty Wives. The former is a list of ingame cheats and how to use them, the latter is a list of the wives and their stats. The JPG is an image of Haas's Labyrinth that has a numerical order for a path to take in the Labyrinth allowing you to quickly and efficiently navigate the Labyrinth and visit every single room.
IMPORTANT NOTE: I did NOT write this program nor am I responsible for any of its functions or features. I ONLY translated the database used for locations on the map from Russian to English. And poor English at that.
ANOTHER NOTE: I highly recommend not changing any settings as I have no clue what they do. I accidentally screwed up my settings and was unable to use the prog once. I had to overwrite it with a backup copy of the executable to set it back. Speaking of which, I also highly recommend holding onto the RAR or keeping a backup copy of everything just in case things get screwy. I would describe it all in a manual but I only get ???? (question marks) in place of Russian characters.
COMPLETION: The database has been translated into English even though the menus, options, etc. are still in Russian. These are direct translations meaning pretty much word for word, which results in poor/broken English because of the differences in grammar. (ie. "to gladden unhappy dairy woman.") I've gone through and straightened out the grammar in many of the items, but there are more to be done, so hang in there.
FEEDBACK: I caught a few errors such as no portals for Great Forest and Verlon Forest. I fixed this but there still may be others. So if anyone notices anything missing including shops, npcs, portals/zonelines, entrances/exits, or anything else that is part of a quest or general gameplay that is NOT randomized (enemy troops, etc.) let me know and I will update the database.
If there's anyone out there who can code a new prog to utilize a Microsoft Access Database or even write a webpage that can utilize xml (I could convert the database) then we could have a full English tool.
Locating the NPCs and shops works, but the tool has other features that I'm sure would be useful if we could understand how to navigate them. It has quests and their steps listed as well, but that's only somewhat functional now as you can see it in the bottom-right of the default mode when selecting icons on the map. At any rate, I don't think there's anything else I can do to better this program for english-speaking users at this point, but if anyone wants to use the translated database to create a new tool, go right ahead, it isn't my creation to begin with, I just translated it.
TITLE LOGO:ΛЕГЕНΔА О РЫЦАРЕ on the title logo means "Legend of the Knight." (The presence of the characters Λ and Δ, however, is strange because these letters are not Russian but are the Greek letters Lambda and Delta respectively.)
LETTER NAMES: This has nothing to do with the game, maps, or this program, but for those interested, the names of the Russian characters/letters used above are as follows:
