I see two new directories("my_presets & my_samples") created after installed 4.12.
What're they for?

Those familiar with mod sound packs I think will be right at home with whats needed for those two directories. That was my understanding anyways. Not much work required to make 4.12 sound packs from what work has already been done.

For the unfamiliar it would be great if some of the sound pack makers could tailor some packs to specifically suit 4.12, to save us lazy buggers the effort of sorting it out for ourselves.

Maybe even some links to existing sound packs would be useful at this point.

Yes please. Because Tiger's Soundmod is only two .sfs files

There is no soundpack currently that we can drop in those two directories. We need someone to make them.....now.

Tigers might not work. Its desinged to work with modpack, thus the buttons will be different and some prs files may have different names.
EDIT: Not to mention as is there is a lot of tigers mod that is 3do/java progaming to make it work the way it does. Way more than a traditional sound mod. I wouldnt expect the guy to rework it just for the stock game. Im almost certain there will be a new one for the next HSFX.

But for other sounds its easy peasy. Take some of jaffas sounds, drop the presets into my_presets/sounds and the .wav samples in my_samples.
Too easy. Ive already got Jaffa's DB600's and my own I-16's up and running.

Go to SAS, check out the sound mods and add at your liesure. Instructions are in the 4.12 documentation.

That's what I figure will happen. We'll have a series of 4.12 compatible sound packs coming along fairly quickly. I see one has already been posted as of this morning...

Here is a sound mod pack for 4.12. It covers most of the sounds. Open the archive and drop the files according to the folders names:

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/68344843/412_csounds.rar

If I remember correctly, it was Jaffa's sounds, that I had to change a bit to run all with the new 4.12 feature. Could probably be better, but should be ok as it is.

thx for the upload

apparently i was having trouble since many sound files were renamed and my old packs didnt work anymore

still its much better now as i can actually customize more guns independently as before there were like 6 or so different generic mg sounds which were reused all over

great work, now i just need to mod my custom mk108s, as those are beyond epic even if they are from the good old 4.08 days and arent exactly 100% authentic but just sound so epic i will use em even if someone actually gets an authentic recorded 108

this patch is getting ebtter and better every day
