Alright finaly in English!
Great artical would of like to have seen more pic's of Moscow.
It was not SimHQ, but me and my friend Caspar who visited Moscow;). Apart from that, the original (german) version of the article is on my website yogysoft.de.
Anyway, I gave it to SimHQ so that not-german people can check it out. Enjoy reading!

Cool! Whoever translated that speaks Olegian!
Wish I could speak Olegian, too! For me a "Horchposten" is still a mere spotting-post or spotting-station, not a "sound search system". :(
I bet google would be very much interested in such a system! ;)

1 guy simulates the weather
I suppose it helps everyone work and stay calm to have some one wandering around imitating wind and drumming his fingers to sound like rain... lol ;)
It could be great fun flying recon and attempting to identify ground units via. their insignia...

Does this report infer that SOW will be optimised for Nvidia cards?

Good question. It would be bad news especially if nVidia goes under but bad news nonetheless if thats the case.

From the IL2 beta Nvidia was the preference, might have had something to do with the ogl drivers back then.

Yup. 1:C has always used NV as their default cards in their own machines. Whether that means they're "optimized" for them or not, who can say. It's just the preference of the developers the way I see it.

hmmmm, as far as I can recall, during the first years of IL-2 it was ATI that was best supported. At some point during the constant upgrades and patches they started supporting NVidia more.
At least thats' what I remember from this ancient history lol

Nah.....
Completely the other way around
ATI couldnt use the OGL extensions the same way as Nvidia could back then.
