Noob question: Autocombat?

I really like the game so far, i've been looking forward to it since last year and it's very nicely done. I have a generic question. When in a battle sometimes my units auto move, attack or just set themselves to defend when their turn comes up. It seems like the Autocombat toggle in the lower left switches between on and off regardless.

Is there a limit to the amount of units you can control per turn? Any tips are appreciated. I would like to control all my units actions for every turn. Maybe i need more PT. Thanks!

Funny thing is, auto combat is just like having all your troops under the fear spell.
It just makes them run around like a bunch of headless chickens... :(

Not really, in some situations when you do not get what to do, the auto combat mode helps a lot. (Not in all cases).

I made the EXACT same mistake:)

The weird way fear works makes it look like auto-combat is toggled on. Strange how it has such an odd effect.
