Hi all,

Just got the demo and loved it. Brings back memories of HOMM 2 (before the whole 'your hero fights 2 thing'). :)

One thing that did bother me a bit is that after a while I didn't care as much about some of the battles, but I can't find a way to speed things up. Auto combat helps so I can step away, but is there a way/will there be a way in the full game to increase the speed of the automation in the battles so they don't take so long?

Thanks,

Munch

yeah i also have the same complain, and there should also be some instant battle resolve feature so that we do not need to fight very easy fights

Options --> Combat animation speed --> High

Quoted for truth.

Looks like I'm not the only one who couldn't see that option at first. ;)

I did that and the battles still take a long time. Maybe it will be different in retail version?

Just thought it's worth its own thread to point out to everyone.

There is an option to speed up combat animation speed, just that it's a dropdown hidden among very technical graphics options, so it's really easy to overlook.

Ah - thank you! I missed it to.

That does help, but I agree that it could still use either an instant resolve or maybe a way to just turn off the combat animations. May not be possible depending on design but it would definitely help. There are lots of small battles.

Thanks again for the help!

This is not readily apparent in the demo, but as you progress in the game you might want to get any fight you can get in order to level up for harder battles, or on the contrary, spare easier fights to generate rage or "clone" troops (with a higher level spell). So if you can do without fighting an enemy, you needn't.

Hm... Played with combat speed on maximum, but always wanted a "no animation" option... too many similar fight on later stages.

I started to get bored with some of the fights in Kordor. They take too long, and once you've developed your winning strategy there's no thinking involved.

But if you let the computer do autocombat, my goodness! The computer AI is shite. No wonder I'm powering through the game on Hard.

Even with the fast animations the combat is still too slow.

Pole axe spell:

It's a nice animation, I can tell the artist did a lot of work on it, the axe fades in, spins around, slices the goblin and knocks him over.

Someone spent quite a bit of time getting it looking perfect.

I cast level 3 pole axe twice at the start of most combats. I'm seeing the same animation 6 times in 20 seconds. I've seen that animation at least 1,000 times, even on high speed animation it takes far too long.

2 ways to fix it, an easy way and a hard way.

The easy way is if the developers (or modders?) make a very high speed option.

The best solution would be an automatic speed option, the first 10 times you see an animation (example, your newest Rage spell) it shows it normal speed, the next 10 times at high speed, anytime after that is at very high speed. I don't that that could be done by modding though.

Hi everyone!

With the "fast" animation speed the combat is way too slow.
Are there any options (mods) to speed up combat? Or turn of the animations completely?

Thanks,
Uwallah

Looking for the same thing too......
Animations are great, but should not take 50% of my time playing.

A nice gif and thank you guys for the tip.

By the way, you could simply say that the option is only available from the Options Menu in the welcome screen - the first screen you see when you run the game, the screen with the Save/Load options. - it is NOT available during play, hence all the questions...

if they said that they would be lieing, the options are available any time in the game. atleast they are in my version, maybe you have a funky version.
