the above link goes to the discussion...

New Vid card HIS HD3850 AGP when I set Texcompress to anything better then =2 I get this weird splotching in B,C and mkIII mustangs only.

I know I need a new system, just a bandaid to carry me on to SOW..

Any Ides why it can't handle Texcompress=0 ??? and why it only effect the ponies I listed no other planes (that I know of so far)

This is all stock 4.08M btw

S!

IIRC the ATI-Drivers should have an option to support DXT-Texture formats. I don't know if this will help, but maybe you should enable or disable this function and retry. Which Catalyst-Drivers do you use anyway and did you uninstall the previous drivers completely?

XP Driver Version: XP_8.501-080602a-064990E-ATI

HIS Brand card so this was the latest and greatest from HIS. Might need to grab 8.8 from ATI.

It's weird that it only occurs in the stangs I listed no other planes...

Wow. Must have taken you a lot of time to test all planes in the game for this error?

Well be going on since 8/14 so I've had sometime messing with it...

Like I said I've tested most it only seems to happen on the B,c and D model Stangs everything else is fine at Tex compress=0 when I take Texcompress to =2 then everything is okay and the quality takes it in the nuts...

It's something with the texture or that oil film on the glass in the stangs B,C and mkIII the d model is fine...
