I just cant figure this out, I was running a 8800GTX and could use perfect mode to have that great looking water and still be a t 60fps.
I have now purcahsed a new Asus 260 GTX and if I select perfect mode my frame rate drops from 60 to about 16.
I have tried different drivers and also have re-installed the game and still no luck.
Any ideas as it looks like I am going to have to rip out the 260 Gtx which will really suck

Did you not uninstall one of the drivers trying to get it to work? Try uninstalling all the nv drivers, delete the folders then reinstall and see if that fixes it. Good luck.

Hi Manta
What about HardwareShaders=1 options in the Conf.ini file?If it is set to "0" you can also have an ESA computer, but IL2 will never work in Perfect mode!
Check it up!

Thanks for the help.
Still no luck, It is when i change the hardware shader option to 1 it all goes up the creek.
So strange as it worked well with the 8800gtx and this card is suppose to be better.
I think i will go back to the 8800

Well this just gets stranger by the minute, now i can use hardware sharder 1 but i have to also use forceshader 1 which from my knowledge is used for older cards.
Has to be a driver issue

I just dont get it, unless there is something wrong with the card but then why do all the other games work?

No luck with any of the drivers listed above.
Maybe the card is busted some how?

I've got to repeat Bullseyes Question, because that is really, really important:
Did you uninstall the drivers or did you just install the new drivers?
It's strongly recommended that you uninstall your drivers *before* pluggin' in the new card and you should also run DriverCleaner Pro. Then you change the cards and install the drivers. They are probably even the same drivers, but it makes it even more obvious, that you NEED to delete all the settings if you don't want to run into problems.
And your problem basically leaves only 2 options:
1. You didn't uninstall the old drivers and settings
or
2. Your PSU is too weak

Check that Threaded Optimisation is set to OFF for Il2 in the NVidia Control Panel (It helps frame rates in Il2 on the other Nvidia cards, can't see why it won't work for your new one)

I did run the driver cleaner pro but this was done after I installed the card.
I will oull the card out again, clean the driver and reinstall.
I have set Threaded Optimisation is set to OFF and still no luck, the strange thing is that flak, AA does not change the framrate.
Will try the new install and the new Dll posted (thanks for them) and give that a go, if that fails I guess the card will end up as a paper weight until BOB
PSU is a 620w corsair so it should handle the power as this card uses less than a 8800 GTX so hopefilly its the driver issue.
Should i update the chipset driver on my P5N 32-E SLI Plus - no idea how to do this yet

That mobo designation looks like an Asus number. If so, then there should have been some software included in the bundle for easy mobo BIOS updates. usually only one or two clicks and you're done.

Well I have updated BIOS, Chipset,GPU and still no luck.
Time to get rid of the 260 GTX i think, which is a joke as i think there is an issue with the game more than the card but i could be wrong
