Seems like a preview from a convention has appeared:
http://www.bluealien.org/node/378

Actually pretty interesting and mentions how your actions might influence the campaign.. oh i really can't wait to try the game or at least the demo now.

Hearing this guy say it should be done before Christmas was not encouraging. :(
Basically, if it was coming out in a month, they would most likely say so.

So it will not come out in September?????????? :-(

Or it could just be that because the official date hasnt been released, they dont want to say "Coming out in September" or anything just because as of yet it hasnt been confirmed. Always try to stay positive

EDIT: 2 things...

1. Here's a positive quote on the release date. "King's Bounty: The Legend was developed by Russian developer Katauri Interactive, published by 1C Publishing and localized for the United States by Atari. The release date is slated as late September with a street price of $39.99." -from the text preview (dunno what if anything is said in movie because its acting up for me)

2. The sentient items keep getting better and better! "Another thing we saw was an intelligent dwarven hammer that had issues with the character's elven wife." :D

Well it definately sounds cool, but also how quests are affected by your choice of armies as well.. sounds like there is ALOT to do in kings bounty.

Also how things could reflect on the king.. what would that do ?

BurningCold

Im not sure, but the quest thing removes any doubt of replayability.

Imperial Dane

That it does.. So it will definately be a thrill to play through again and again

Would be nice if this is reflected in the demo as well, but that might be hoping for too much.

Yeah probably. Ill be fine with the playable demo described in previews.

Imperial Dane

Well it would be the most sensible one since that is the one in the starting area and would let players try hands with building their own character.. Personally i hate being given a pregenerated character.. feels odd and i also feel limited because the character hasn't been made according to my way of playing the game..

indeed.

WANT DEMO!

Only when its an over the shoulder pure rpg like Oblivion do i care about the customization, otherwise im usually fine with prerendered characters unless they are horrible. But this isnt one of those cases.

What demo? I don't really think the game could be coming out in a month if they are supposed to release a demo and they haven't.

Imperial Dane

@Burningcold: perhaps, but it is supposed to be a demo, and if i can't get to make my own character in it, i can't really get a feel for it..

@phoenixreborn: Can't see why, if they have already planned for it, then there shouldn't be any delays or anything like that, besides if it is the demo they seemingly have been showing at previews, then most of the groundwork should already have been done.

Agreed. seriously developers, it doesn't have to be fancy, just put a file we can download on Mediafire or something.

Imperial Dane
08-27-2008, 06:26 PM
Actually they can't just do that for several reasons, a bad demo can turn out to be a bad decision, as it may turn away anyone they might hope to bring in that doesn't know about the game already.

But it would be nice with a word or two on the progress of the Demo.. or any update for that matter, it's been two weeks since the last tale from Endoria.

And now 3 days since the convention (yet it still runs the advertisement for it at the top..)

Hadn't noticed that to be honest..

I wouldn't count on them, just wait until it is announced that it has gone gold, game sites and stores love to speculate about such things, and they have been known to get it quite wrong.

Yeah that about tells it all...the 12th day of the Fifteenth month. Please don't hate the messenger, just the message.

No, that says 15th of december.. in any case it's just a pointless guess.

Different cultures represent dates differently, at least when it comes to the numerical representation. As in with the day being first, many hispanic countries will write the date as so. Just FYI

Imperial Dane

It's a rather common way of writing it here in Europe if i am not very much mistaken.

The release date for this game has been out for quite a while now which is Sept.23rd,2008.....I can't see any reason to doubt the validity of this date..If for some reason the game was going to be postponed I really think we would have been informed by the devs a good while ago. Most of the time if the date is uncertain they would have probably have said it would be ready in Q4 of this year instead of a hard date. Just my thoughts..

Imperial Dane

Funny thing is though, that even though it is supposed to be out by the 23rd, i've yet to see a single date here in Denmark as to when it is released.

I live in the USA and I have had the game pre-ordered from GameStop since July and at that time the release date was 9/23/08. When I ordered the game that was the set date for release at GameStop and Gamespot. I just figured that was the US release date....Don't know about the rest of the world. You are right about Denmark...I looked on Atari's website and did not see the game even listed on the Denmark page.

The official 1c page still says Autumn 2008.

So I don't believe September 23rd until I see it on that page. Nike-It said worldwide release soon though.

Why would Atari have that date on their King's Bounty webpage then?Doesn't make alot of sence.

Let's just wait in any case. Besides, the demo will soon be out. :)

Ok, I missed that part. Last time I looked Atari didn't have the game on their website.

Well a publisher is more reliable than a gamestore in any case, so it might be the date.
