Its been a long time since I've messed with the IL2 series and I'm really out of the loop in terms of latest developments and progress on follow on work so this may be a dumb question. I was looking through some of my old game CD's and noticed the box (IL2 1946) said XP only. I wanted to load up Pacific fighters only and my computer has Vista. Will this work or is there a patch that allows it to work? Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

I am running Il2 1946 on "Vista 32 bit" with no problems. I have kept the install out of "Program Files" to make changes to th "conf.ini" files easier. My install is:- C\My Games\Ubisoft\Il2 1946
where "My Games" is a new folder created to install all my games into

Same as Rick, I run Il2 1946 under Vista 32, no problem at all, it's rock solid. Just be sure to put the Il2 folder out of Program Files.

I'm running 1946 under Vista Home Premium 64-bit without problems.
The only thing was that I had to use the file "a.exe" on the DVD to install it.
I don't know if that works for Pacific Fighters though.

And what about Vista SP1 ?
Anyone got already tested with IL2 1946?
Thanks for answer.

Same experiences using Vista 64 Ultimate (also had to use a.exe to get the installer running but it works OK in Vista (with sp1 too)). I use a dual boot setup (Core 2 Duo 3.0 + 8800GTX) with XP 32 and It runs a lot faster in XP so I never play any games in Vista (including Dx10 titles like Crysis and WiC that may look marginally better in Dx10 but the fps is just so much better in XP/Dx9).
