Chinese IL2 player copy IL2: up2.0 mods, claims it is developed by him and sell it

Hi all:

I am a IL2 fan from China and this is the first time I post on 1c forum. I make this post because I read news and I am very angery. The reason I felt sad and angry is because there is a Chinese guy just copy il2:up 2.0 mods and claim it is developed by him and sell it to make a profit and fame.

The title is "Chinese super player developed an awesome flight simulation game". In this news, the guy's name is Yao yao and his game id is @6, he is so called an "cyber world ace" and own a company to develop flight simulation games. After years of hard working (or copying?) He developed an awesome flight sim and sold it to schools in China and even the Chinese air force was interested in this game and plans to buy it from him .Which made him "successful and famous". The most ridiculous part of this news is Yao yao stated “under the inspiration of what he did, the Russian government decided to buy flight simulation games from 1c company and promote them to all the youth across the country “. I am not a Russian player, is it true?

I am a big fan of flight simulations and an owner of il2:1946 and IL2: CLOD. I was shocked after I read this news and wonder what game this guy develop and want to buy and try it. Then I go to this guy's company forum and download. The game is called "DOF SonicAge™ (version V.10) "(they even "tm" for it). Here is the game introduction webpage and video.

The video seems cannot play on 1c forum, just click the link in the video, you can watch. I think after watch this video, any il2 player will know it is Il2:up2.0 or up 3.0 mods. In order to make sure, I download the game and found out it is just il2:4.09+up2.0. They just change a name, they even don’t bother to change the il2:fb exe and other files. Seems the name is only the "years of hardworking" he and his team do.

As an Il2 fan, I felt very angry because I know il2 is a game developed by hard working of maddox teams and the mods are contributed by lots of players and fans all over the world. As a Chinese guy, I felt very sad, because those act of copy and piracy are very common in China. This guy just copy and he can sell it to make a profit. I wish this kind of situation can change someday.

Forgive my poor English and I don’t know whether is appropriate to post this topic here and I want this can attract 1c Company’s attention and 1c can take some action. I plan to post it in facebook, twitter and other flight simulation forums. Meanwhile I want to post the video to YouTube. However, due to the internet policy, the government had blocked face book, twitter and YouTube. Can somebody help me to spread it and make it aware? The only reason I do this is because I am a fan and I was ashamed and felt it is wrong.

VERY interresting find. Please come over to SAS and make a post with this!
SAS is one of main moddig comunity for IL2: (the registration is quick and easy) I think it make more sense cause the modding thing is not very "popular" here.

Semor, nice piece of advertisement. But I don't think, this is in first case a problem of modding, since it is 1C, who owns the core rights on the product named 'Il-2' and all its content and files.
Of course the mental properties of individual artists and authors from the modding scene are hurt here as well - still I doubt, you will find any lawer who could fight that through (especially, because the topic 'mental property' is not always that clear itself and sometimes even very suspicious inside the modding scene).

This is most important for 1C - and thats where it already went.

Unfortunately, there is a similar situation going on in the FSX community regarding AIG's (Alpha India Group, AI) work with AI traffic, and an individual in Spain who is taking AIG's work and selling it, claiming it to be his "team's" own work. He calls it Ice AI.

The group at AIG is not happy about this and litigation has ensued.

:-x I'm pretty sure that there's a chinese flightsim community who could adress this issue much better then we could. For example putting up latest version free to download links for UP3rc4/HSFX6/DBW1.71 to their sites would ruin this "business".

It's not complete truth.
Sonic Age is a Mod bases on 4.09m.
It addes Mig15 and F86 to simulate Korean War.
I know a lot of simulaters in China use it freely.I often use it but have never heard anybody paid it.

Also they added other things. Besides, the download is completely free, and if you want to fly more realistic jets in IL2, why not try it? It being free, I doubt the softwares which the first post claims some people are foolish enough to buy are the same thing.

I once heard of it that Oleg had even given @6 some help with this SonicAge project.

In Russia many people use pirated copies of Microsoft XP and all kinds of goodies.

lol Well as long as they Chinese Air Force doesn't try and train thier pilots to fly a P-47 using '46 as a training tool.......they might be ok. :-P

Nice plane list for Korea. Would love some of that. but can it be trusted? Anything that's not devloped by Team D, of the HSFX guys i don't trust. Ultra pack is garbage and will never see my hard drive.

I can also provide some other information. In 2005,@6 orgnized the first ICAS( international cyber air sports) ,which is a international competion for il2 simulator. Players from 10+ countries attended ICAS including Russian players, and Oleg was invited as a special guest to come to china.It's hard to belive that @6 stole Oleg‘s il2 and sold it. In fact SA is free downloading.

those rumour about SA comes from some chines players , they are hostile to @6 and SA for some reasons,so they distort the facts.They should be totally ashamed of thier behavior.

As far as we know, what Cainiaofly said was a lie. The Mods set of Sonig Age is not just rename the UP2.0, and never been sold in any Country. He will never tell you which store or person is selling this Mod, or what is the price. His anger to the Mod makers is just due to the personal reason. So he will spread this lie over and over again.

I don't think this is going to get him any frame. He is just a person with low self steam. Who would cares? Notice they website map, it is under 市州网群 (city net group). It is for people to tell stories to each other, it is not an official news at all. Who would even bother to read that?

Making money? As far as I know all Chinese flight sim squardrons purchases their copy through proper shops including ebay. You'll get kicked out if they found out you are using a illegal copy. He is just saying that to make himself feel good.

Still I am deeply embarrassed such person exist in my home country.

The Mig-21 is in final stage, cockpit is being textured then it will probably released at sas1946.com for Jetwar/DBW - I'm not familiar with HSFX but they are free to import it. The Harrier imho is an experiment, I wouldnt hold my breath for that. The rest (F-100/L-39) is already released.
