all ready need a hot fix, not to shaby for a first release.

"Flawless is slightly too strong a word.... but so far its not too bad.

There are a few things that have come up already but we are going to give it a few weeks.

Then a Hotfix (or hopefully an Auto-Updator).

So far:-

There is a file missing for the Fw200 cockpits that causes them to not show.
Do17 has an error that makes it problematic online in DF (probably in co-op also but not as yet tested. (although it seems ok offline)
30mm Axis Flak guns have two bad .mat files that cause them not to load on winter maps.

These we know about and are already fixed (or are very easy to fix...)"

The above is the best solution.

--but if disk space is an issue an alternative is to install onto an existing HSFX5 setup.

1. Disable HSFX5 so game starts in v4.10.1m
2. Upgrade installation to v4.11.1 --- ensure it starts ok.
3. Overwrite with HSFX6 --- after backup of any critical old HSFX5 files.
(see installation notes for stuff to backup)

I don't know much about the various IL946 packs, I have vanilla 4.11.1 and UPRC3 currently installed.

Could someone explain what the advantage or purpose of the HSFX6 pack is compared to what I have?

you wont need the 6dof mod,
the sounds are much better,
the AI is like PvP,
the air effects on the aircraft seem more real,
the FX effects are better,
plane sets are more true to life i.e. who was where and fighting.

The AI is like Player vs Player, right? This is what I was hoping for given that it's based on 4.11.1.

It's time for me to get back flying, and with IL2 COD and UP3 seemingly stuck on the tarmac, it seems HSFX6 is the way to go.

HSFX is designed for online use, mainly for SEOW online campaigns. http://seowhq.net/seowforum/index.php

Also if you fly coop's HSFX will track the pilots stats/scores unlike Ultra Pack as Zuti (MDS) removed the pilot tracking for coop mode, he hates coop's apparently.

Ai isn't like player v player

Just a few gripes but its better than the Ultra Pack stuff

Back to stock v4.11.1 with crt=2 :grin:

So is the AI actually improved over 411.1? I did notice it wasn't too great in the old version. I had to constantly remind my wingmen to rejoin every 30 seconds .One more question , when you say clean install , does that include skins ?I do have a few skins added to my 411.1

Ok, here are the new capital ships in HSFX V6.

I did not include destroyers, escorts, torpedo boats, submarines, tenders, river gun boats... etc...

The review took place off the Island of Yap in the Carolines and the fleet is passing at a stately 10.7 knots.

Ok I updated my 411.1 to HSFX 6 . When I start up my game it still says 411.1 , is this normal ? Or should it read HSFX 6 ? Is there something in quick mission that's different than the old version ? Or is this just for online?

You have to activate the mod in JSGME for it to work after install.

HSFX has a different splash screen as well.

So in the JSME module I add the 411.1 version that I added the HSFX6 to ? WhatI'm getting when I try to activate the game is JSME ends up not responding and freezes up .Or do you just add the hsfx6 to the jsme list? The instructions are very vague in this regard . I'm lost here , can one of you experts please walk me through how to activate this mod through jsme ? I do have jsme I just don't know how to get the HSFX working properly ..

Those ship models are nice, but the Yamato needs some re-texturing. It didn't have all those scuttles on the hull, and you would never see scuttles on the armored belt of any battleship, anyway.

Well I found a video on youtube explaining the HSFX 5 install and installed the HSFX 6 the same way and all I can say is - WOW what an improvement all around . Incredible graphics , sounds and effects !I went into the conf ini and upped all the effects ,- water 4 trees 3 etc Very Cool even in the quick missions .The D9 or D11 on flyby sounds unreal ! Clods going on the shelf for a while . This is way cooler . Even the crashes look much much better thanin CLOD .

Additions.

ALL jsgme Option:-

A) Carrier takeoff 5.5 for HSFX 6.0 (Fireball)
look at il2 root folder \HSFX V6 Tools & Read me's \Carrier_Takeoff_5_5_README.txt for full explanation.

B) Fw 190 Canopies (Offline Only)
This retains Full Fw190 opening Canopy functionality and will work in both Stock and Expert mode, but for the moment it is moved to a switcher option because of a Server Console error that it triggers. Its great offline and may be Ok in Co-op format or with Client hosting, but not with a dedicated HSFX server currently.

C)Stock (Mod friendly) compatability mode
This adds back default actors.static files for stock maps (where they differ) to synchronise spawn points and runway altitudes with the stock game. (DD_Fruitbat and SAS_Storebror)
Also a new code function added (SAS_Storebror) so that ai made flyables with Bombsites do not trigger an error on stock servers where the aircraft by default do not have Bombsite positions.
It also drops the Expanded squadrons and nations temporarily and removes the possibility of players accidentaly rendering themselves invisible by choosing a nation or formation that others don't have.
(there is no advantage to this, invisible aircraft can do no damage but it can take a while for an invisible player to 'see' the error of his ways !.)

viii) Bf 109 G1 Cockpit changed to pressurized variant.

ix) Me 210 & 410's CoG & ground handling corrections.

x) Fw190 Gear alterations .

xi) Server Console error.
[i]A new FW190 Opening canopies option is now available as a JSGME switcher option (Offline only) and should work for all Fw190's whether using Stock or Expert mode. By default all canopies are closed and this seems to take care of the above error.

xii) Wespe & Priest load strings in Expert mode Artillery form.

xiii) Fw190 FM 'unification'.
Stock FW's now use stock FM in both modes and Aachen has revised the new ones so that they are consistant.

xiv) Corsair Supercharger correction.

xv) HMS Eagle correction (Asheshouse)

xvi) F9F Instrument and external canopy correction. (Fireball)

xvii) MBR & Li2 Top Turrret skin mapping code correction.

xviii) ZB/YE Hayrake functionality added for F9F, TBD, P2V, Seahurricanes, Seagladiator and Seafury.

xix) SM79 torpedo site view arc (mrz)

xx) Runway lights not showing with Effects Low

xxi) A couple of tweaks to 110 FM's.

xxii) Ju 52 FLoatplane water behaviour corrected. (this required reverting some of it back to v5...so it takes off in a very short time.Its that or the catastropic bounce at the moment I am afraid, the short takeoff currently is the better option.)

xxiii) Added missing Tropical filter Code for Hurricane IIa

xxiv) Revised 109 Tropical filter code so that it is consistant with that in 4.11. (E4-G6 should now have working filter on desert maps).

xxv) 3d error with HS129 Mk101 & 103

xxvi) Hurricane IIc loadout correction

xxvii) J2M's Gunsight

xxviii) Revised Overheat parameters for TBD & RR Griffin engines

xxix) Player flown 109's and a few other aircraft types 'bounced' rather than exploding when hitting the ground in Cockpit view. (those seeing other players doing this would also see the bounce from external.) nasty bug this one !.
Some new code introduced this problem so have gone through all cockpits systematicaly and removed it wherever present.
Needed to revert to a derivative of 'AHS' in the case of a few aircraft which the new code had replaced, if you pause the game and switch to externals with these the body of the aircraft will be transparent. Unpause the game and it will correct itself.
Unfortunate, but it has no practical negative effect upon gameplay unlike the bounce.

xxix) Burma and Can_Channel (beta) revised by Cat

xxxi) Lod 4 palmtree Fix (Ashe)

xxxii) 190 3d Cockpit correction and Revi mask update (Claymore)

xxxiv) Ar-234 Bombsight error

xxxv) 109E4 Trop & E7N Trop removed. With the properly working Trop filters correction above, they had just become duplicates.

xxxvi) Fw190 F2 Loadout altered to give Tropical filter when Tropical Loadout option is selected (this is different to usual to reflect use in Southern Russia).

xxxvii) Typhoon 3d model and Rocket rack update (SAS_Crazyflak & 101tfs)

xxxviii) Cant Bombsite correction (mrz)

xxxix) Yamato skin update (Diving Hawk)

Hi all, Im not much of an Il2 player but installed it and got hsfx working. Was just curious if there is a way to get more campaigns? I'm totally in the dark about that part, only seems to be stock campaigns

Best place to start is probably Mission4Today http://www.mission4today.com/

Click on the Downloads Center.

There is a section for stock missions/campaigns and a section for modded missions/campaigns

All of the stock ones will run with HSFX6 however some of the modded ones may require other mods or mod packs to work. Read the notes and ensure you have all the maps and objects required before loading a modded version.
