Patching Il-2 1946

When you install Il-2 1946 from CD, it will be version 4.07m. Since the release of version 4.07m, plenty of patches have been added. To bring you up to current status, you need to apply the following patches in the following order:

- 4.08m - can be found on the CD, install from there - in case you have a download version that comes without it, you can download from here (http://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=Downloads&file=details&id=1908)

The mission4today.com website has uploaded one megapatch (http://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=Downloads&file=details&id=4088), which will patch from version 4.07m to 4.10.1m. If you install this patch, you only need to add the patches that come thereafter.

since ubishop has changed site, and since direct2drive changed for gamefly, old downloaded versions of the game can't be activated. You must repurchase it through Ubisoft again, this time you get a DVD version at 4.07m, no activation, no cd key. You can also get the game on GOG.com for the same price of 9.99$ (usefull if you cannot get the ubisoft version because of your country), in case of a full system reinstallation. You can also use any working (a copy that you can start and play)stock copy of the game you might have as a backup. Those that have a physical DVD do not have any issues when reinstalling the game.

I just downloaded from shop.ubi.com for $4.99 and it came 4.07m without 4.08 file.
If you are not from the USA, and you want to buy from their bogus shop, you are forced to lie your country and put it USA.

Ive just got il2 ultimate edition and it shows it as version 4.11.1m and i want to patch it up to date but it will not apply any of the patches can anybody help please.

If you are running Vista/Win 7 move Il-2 out of Program files. Maybe create a Games folder and move it there.

Hy everibody!
I used to be a member of a il 2 forum in italian but unfortunately it desappeared! Or I am not able to find it again. As a matter of fact a few years have gone.....
I had to came back to a forum specialized on IL 2 because of a number of problems.....and I need some help. Let start from the beginning.
I run for years with Il 2 and Il 2 1946 (up to ver.4.10) having in my old PC Windows XP and using Saitek X45, thenX52 and finally X52 Pro. Last year I added also Cliffs of Dover. Last year I refurbished my PC and adopted Windows 7. I rloaded the above games and i went on recrording only minor problems with my X 52 Pro (leds not lighting, some buttons and a slider not working). I had the drives that came in with the disk updated to a new version published in march 2010 /I do not remember the number). In december 2014 I had the crazy idea to update the Saitek driver to the last version just published. Since then I could not play any more. The Pc went mad ! I had plenty of advices in Goggle and I followed them but with no good results. In this last week I started from scrap managing to delete all Saitek files from everywhere, I also deleted all the games and the loaded them again, meeting, inter alia, alot of difficulties. For instance it was impossible to update Il 2 behiond Ver4.10 : so I have to open in C:\ a flder named SIMS end drop inside the game with all the Patches up to 12.2. No problems loading CoD up to ver.4.03. Both games were working well so I could go ahead loading the Saitek driver ver.6.2.2.4 heavily advised by all the fliers in many different forums. I again damaged the PC and , of course the X 52 was not working at all. In addition there was no possibility to delete Saitek files . I am afraid , this time I have to format the machine. Sorry for the lenght of this post....but I hope to receive some help.
I know that many would advise me to smash any Saitek product: in this case I like to know which stiks and throttles are working well with Wi ndows 7.

Better is to disable the UAC in 7 and be done with it. It's nothing but bothersome. Once off one can install into the 'Program files' folder without any issue.

Should a "Games" folder be used for Win 8.1? I'm just reinstalling 1946 to start over again after seeing the IL2 1946 ME262 UPGRADE video. Are these upgrades on the latest 4.07 - 4.13.1 Mega Patches? Do we still have to update from the first patch to 4.06? I've been away too long.

I just bought this game. Trough steam, I´m about to go and patch it to the lastest version. My questions are: does hyperlobby support the newest version - that is - 14.3.3? If not, which version is most advised? or how can I decide? I´m currently running 14.2.2m

Nextly: If a mod is destined for patch 14.2.2m (that is the basic steam version) can I use that mod after I patch it to 14.3.3? Or would that be incompatible?

If yes. i assume the most wide spread version to have is 14.2.2m (based sherely on the number of mods)- correct?

What is Il2 1946 dedicated server? and why does it have it´s own patches. What does it do? should I patch it? Can I patch it after I install the international patches?

How can I use Track IR, or rather HatTrack with IL2 1946? mod or addon?

I already know where to find info on installing mods. So I have that covered

Hyperlobby supports all versions as it only connects Hosts and Clients via ip.

So long as your client version matches the hosts your going to connect.

Not very easily. DT changed the way the patches were packaged. They quit using WinRAR with the v4.14m patch and created their own installer. You can however get a megapatch to take you to v4.12.2m.
