When I read the title and saw you posted a youtube-movie, I actually though you were showing off some formation flying, group-tactics and teamwork-kills, going SEAD before bombing the target, attacking formations from different angles at the same time and stuff.

No, i do not want to fly with someone that takes this beautiful SIMULATOR and fly it as if it was an ARCADE. There is a playstation there, ¿you know?

No need to be so tough on a fellow IL2 fan. He's just sharing the passion.

Nice editing.

~S~ Lazarus!

Don't be put off by these pompous jerks, they should be ashamed of themselves for implying that they are better than you in some way.

You guys fly the way you want to. Nice production, I'd like to see them put one together - half as good.

Exactly! Flying with your eye up to a keyhole isn't more realistic anyway.

hehe, you can't post here without expecting to get poked in the eye several times.

Seriously though, I dislike closed pit as much as you dislike open pit. We all have our own choice on how we enjoy the game, individually. It's simply how we choose to enjoy the game. We shouldn't assume our method of game play some how elevates us above others who play it differently.

We all have a love for the exact same game, who's maker saw fit to give us both options. How we play it shouldn't be a source of insults. It's like saying that your ruining a perfectly good steak because you hold your fork with your left hand:confused:.

I respect the patients it takes for a pilot to fly closed pit. I wish I had those patience. I don't. Maybe it's because I hold my fork with my left hand....I don't know. So let me close by offering this disclaimer...

U mean like "we" FW190 joks do on a regular basis in cockpit on servers, as in blind? Strange thing that is, seems FW designers couldnt put good forward visebillity into the ac to save thire lifes...or as it where, the pilots. Allies on the other hand has that forward panorama wiew nailed down cold...strange thing indeed. Or maby all FW pilots where midgets and that is accuratly simulated in IL2?

Closed pit actually makes it easier doging bullits

Cockpit on or off, u still need to be able to aim, and hit.

Well, it's a film. I'm not doing the holier than thou bit but I just don't see the point of flying outside the cockpit. It's ok for watching tracks and learning but beyond that, I don't get it.

But, that's not what the thread is about, so, yes, it's nice clean film. It didn't make me nauseous etc and it didn't give me any sense of atmosphere or 'presence'. Sorry. No offence intended.

But you're right - never fly alone - join a Squadron/Geschwader, etc.

Sometimes you wonder. With no cockpit, externals, padlock, player icons, map icons and as many Mk108's as you can carry - What exactly are they simulating!??

Although I wouldn't be seen dead in a server like that, your movie editing skills are quite brilliant ;)

Flying full real does not make you better than open pit pilots, and there is nothing wrong with the hectic action that you can find on servers like SoF.

Oh laz: Satriani 4eva :D

everbody has his/hers preferences.
one likes arcade, the other tends to simulation.
there are always two views: mine and of course the wrong one.

Is there a way to get rid of the green pin that appears when your in flight?
