View Full Version : Team Dogfight Server - Score and Loadout Options

I am seeking two options for a dedicated dogfight server.
The server runs short team games designed to promote working well with wingmen.

Option #1- To disable or hide each players score. To show score as zero or zero it out after each sortie. My server runs short team games and keeps track of which team wins via IL2SC. Disabling the personal score would help keep the focus on the team win rather that each players score.

Option #2- The option to force the default loadout only in a dogfight server, no bombs or rockets.

Current Server info… IL2 dedicated dogfight server 408m w/ IL2SC.
Server team game description… http://battlebox.webhop.net

If someone has figured out a way to do this in IL2, please let me know. (I realize that others have asked for this in the past, I am seeing if anyone made progress on this since the last time I researched it.) Maybe even some sort of utility that runs every 10 minutes to zero the scoreboard out??? Other thoughts???

It would be great if future 1C games had similar options built in like the above mentioned options as well as the options that IL2SC brings to the server side with a simple user gui interface.

Re: Option #1, if you set eventlogkeep=0, then it will be started anew when the map/mission rotates, which may not be what you are asking for. I don't know of any way to zero the scores during a mission.

Re: Option #2, you are using IL2SC, which has a function for enforcing a particular loadout, does it not? Does that not do what you want?

Thank you for the fast response.

"Re: Option #1, you are using IL2SC, which has a function for enforcing a particular loadout, does it not?"

No function for this that I have found for a dogfight server. Not in english anyhow. There is a reference to editing the map.ini file, but I wasn't able to get it to work. I'm open to directions if anyone has been able to limit the ammo loadout to "default only".

Currently running eventlogkeep=0 still carries over the scores to the next dogfight mission. It doesnt zero it for me :-(
I'd like to either hide it, zero it after each sortie or zero it with each new map/mission. Again, open to suggetions or directions to acheive this.

Thanks Again.

Okay, I understand what you are saying about eventlogkeep=0. The only way I know of to zero the score, then, is for the player to disconnect from the server.

For IL2SC loadout restriction, I'm just pasting some lines from the help file here:

You also can set restrictions on for any armament of airplanes

Format:

[PlanesArmy2]
Bf-109G-6=100,U3-MK108;R5-MK108;U3R6-MG151-20

spaced from planes number by «,» simbol, spaced from each other by «;» simbol

in this example you can see, that for plane limit of 100 planes type Bf-109G6, you can not carry on these planes U3-MK108;R5-MK108;U3R6-MG151-20 gun installations

So, you tried this, and it didn't work? My understanding is that it doesn't directly prevent a player from selecting the banned loadout, but assigns points for doing so, which result in a disconnect.

Bulau, thanks again for taking a deeper look at this.

I read/interpret it the same way you do. That being, the player gets warning points for choosing the blacklisted loadouts and then gets kicked/banned for x=time. I'd prefer not to give them them the option/tempt them. With my typing skills, by the time I type all of the optional loadouts that would give warning points as described in the IL2SC help file for all the aircraft in all the missions... BOB will have been out for 7 years.

So, I'm still seeking an easier way if anyone has more ideas.
Maybe there is a format like
[PlanesArmy2]
Bf-109G-6=100,NOT default <-format?? Where if loadout is not equal to default then warning/ban points????
or
Some sort of script that looks at the log file and if it sees Bomb hits or Rocket hits > 0 then kick that player??

RE: Scoreboard.. mabye a script to zero the scores upon map change at mission end???

:-)

*Ironically someone has asked a similar question today in the IL2SC forum having a problem with limiting loadouts. For those interested here is a link. http://www.gennadich.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=13
