Online flying and competition is a big part of the IL2 experience. Help support the game, and the community by getting involved!!!!

Quote 334th_Zemke: "Just a public notice for all out there. I know there are some Squads in the USL that are pretty small and need pilots. If you wanted to fly in the most dynamic competition I have seen, then try and join one of those squads. The USL is historically based, so missions all have an objective. Also if you like bombing or are good at bombing, but suck at dogfighting, there are several squads out there who I am sure would love to have you. These USL matches are 45min per round, then you play the opposite side. So each side has a chance to fly both sides. Points are then totaled to determine the winner. The real great thing about the USL matches are they reward good teamwork and planning. You can have better pilots, and lose because the other side was smarter, planned better, had better teamwork. You can go to the USL web site and see what Squads are taking part. There are two groups open pit and closed pit. "

Forgotten Skies aint too shabby either:
http://www.forgottenskies.com/ForgottenWars/default.aspx

Up to 90 pilots (45 each side) every Sunday, Tuesday, Friday evening at 9:30p EST flying 90 minute missions. Dead is dead (at least for the mission) and there are stats, points (with bonuses for staying alive longer) to determine the winner of each phase (20 mission block), a dynamic front line that moves based on supplies/fuel/troops in each sector.

Stop by and check it out.
