I hate OT threads but I can’t help to react to all the “dot dot dot” in the latest threads. I think this a NA thing but I could be wrong. So far we had the smiles. ;), etc, and the LOL´s etc that we all are used to by now but what is this!? Uncoherent and uneducated or just the dots from the future…What’s the opinion…Viking…

D@mn, I've used the dots for as long as I remember. I never knew they actually had rules on how to use them. Hmmmm . . .

At least you people can SEE the dots.

If you don't like the dots...use icons.

Dots are the future, and the future is now...evolve, or be dammed to extinction

Understand? Yes I think that I do but I fear that you don’t as in the page you refer to the … is used to indicate left out material in quoted material and, surely, at least some of your ideas and writing most originate from you!

“The ellipsis can also be used to indicate a pause in the flow of a sentence...”
That’s not you at all! No stop! No pause there! Lol!

Again you are making up as you se fit but its OK… now… that we… know… .

What made me post was the fear that this is a new “thing” on the internet as it, imho, makes debating and arguing much shallower. Luckily it seems to be a local thing.

Regards…

...ha ,ha, ha!!!

The appearance of dots in a thread tend to coincide with discussions that have a conversational flow to them.

I use the dots all the time and I never really thought about it...I guess you could call me uneducated if you want to, but I don't think you could call me "incoherent".

p.s. Is "uncoherent" even a word? I don't think it is...

Made up words bug me (LOL)... :)

No it is not a word.

So to help with a person's education, the word is incoherent.
