It's possible to go for ambush location (Place where says it's good place for ambush) wihtouh killing 3 monsters (actually killing 2 of 3). In such case after killing 3rd "Misinform the inkeeper" part of the quest is not activated = stuck in game.

Can't you load an earlier save and proceed normally?
