Why is there an English forum if this game isn't being released outside of Russia?

It is here because we plan to release the game outside of Russia and other CIS countries.

That should be interesting. I know a number of us attempted to obtain copies when it was first released. It has some neat features (such as the large battles, integrated atmosphere and Russian writing). Unfortunately, it also apparently has the limitations of its genre (poor AI, poor flight and damage models). Still it should be nice to check out this very different take on space combat games. S!

Should be out in North America and Europe approximately in Spring 2008.

The game is done so, that its format is very open and it's quit easy to edit the missions. But there is no map editor. Thank you for your question.

Hello there: this is my first post and I will start to say thank you to 1C for permitting us europeans to one day have the honour of playing tomorrow war (this game looks fantastic). I definately am saving my money for this one. However I've heard that the tomorrow war already has an add-on in russia called tomorrow war: factor K. I was woundering if one day we will be able to play factor K in europe too, as it seems the add-on continues the story where the tomorrow war left out. And their is no such horrible thing as an unfinished story. LOL

I'm looking forward to hear your advice.

best regards.

mike.

P.S: this is off-topic, I'm sorry, but I also hope that 1C will also provide us with a BOXED english version of the Parkan 2 game I'm also awaiting impatiently, As I prefer to buy a game this way than purchase and download it from sites like gamer's gate. After all they already have a german boxed version in germany, so why not an english boxed version in UK one day?

Hello, anybody there?

Hello, starlord, glad to see you on our forum.)

Evgeny

Well as for Parkan 2, it will be in our on-line shop for sure. Now you can download it from Gamersgate.com. AS for the box version, I can' tell you anything precise now, but I'll inform you if I have any news.
As for the Tomorrow War add-on, the situation will become clear after the release of the original version, it's very possible, that the add-on will be alsoo released.

Thank you evgeny: those are GREAT news!

I suppose 1C will be responsible for the distribution of "factor K" right? I simply hope that the add-on will also make it to us.

It would be good to prevent another "homeplanet" disaster.

Nota: homeplanet was a promising space sim (very well known in russia) but it failed to be released outside (although an english demo exists). The new publisher, russobit-M kept it russian exclusive.

Although luckily, I managed to find a copy (it was very hard to get it to come to france) and I also managed to find a programmer who told me he could do an english subtitle patch (for homeplanet gold, which is the version I have).

Sorry to get on with this, but since this incident, those issues have been quite important to me.

best regards.

mike.

Can you provide me a link to the English demo of Homeplanet Starlord, would like to try it out?

Thx in advance :)

here you go: http://www.fileplanet.com/119449/110000/fileinfo/HomePlanet-Demo

As for my advice: hear me: Get this game if you can (the gold version of homeplanet as it contains homeplanet and playing with fire).

several russian sites are selling the game:
http://www.cdvseti.ru/id5476.html
http://www.ozon.ru/context/detail/id/2409226/
http://www.yakaboo.com/ru/film.html?film_id=8271
http://shop.bigmir.net/goods/1729591

The only thing is russian sites can't ship up to our contries: That's a shame.

Also, homeplanet gold will be in russian speech (only the demo got an english subtitle system). Yet there may be hope as oleg petrov (programmer of homeplanet and currently working on babylon 5, I've found her, says he could create an english patch for homeplanet gold at some point (when he's less busy with B5IFH) as the whole english script was written for the game, but russobit-M who now onws it wants to keep it russia-exclusive.

Evgeny, since you are russian, is there some advice you could give us on how to buy homeplanet gold copies and to have them shipped in france or belgium?
Could 1C one day be interested in publishing homeplanet gold to our countries? (although I think I know what the answer will be).

I hope this answers your questions and I hope that publishers will keep such an incident from repeating itself.

Hey thx, will certainly give it a try asap :)

If I like it I wouldn't mind an answer too on how to get it shipped over here and with English subtitles or even better, English voiceovers ;)

starlord
12-20-2007, 04:29 PM
We'll be already lucky if oleg manages to incorporate english subtitles in homeplanet gold (although like I said, this will take quite some time), Yet I think you can already forget about english voice overs. But come on: that's not so bad: When I tried incoming forces for PC, the characters were speaking alien (no kidding), yet I found it to be quite good as long as the game was subtitled.

LtJamesWatts

True, English subtitles will do fine already, gives it a special flavour hearing voices in another language ;)

If Russobit-M is the publisher of the game in Russia, they should also have the international rights for this one as well I guess. So this is more a question to Russobit-M rather than to 1C :)

starlord
12-21-2007, 09:16 AM
Then I guess this answers my question: Russobit-M has been quite clear at keeping it russian exclusive. However, with the promise of an english patch, hope lives on. In the meanwhile, how can we import those to our countries? All the online shops I tried don't ship this far. What can we do? Any advice to give my russian friends?

Moderator, Sorry if this thread is starting to wander off topic. Move it if you wish to.

Don't know exactly about Russobit titles, but we are opening our own online store to make it easier to buy our games all across the world even if they are not present at your local retailers.
I think another way to do it is to ask somebody in Russia to ship it over to you.

starlord
12-21-2007, 03:13 PM
Yeah, the only thing is such persons are hard to come by. Oh well, we'll see what the future might bring.

Although more 'international' shipping sites in russia I think would improve things too. I hear some of them are considering it.

Hey, I once saw homeplanet gold in your 1C shop (russian site), If I buy it here, will they ship it to france, you think?

Evgeny
01-28-2008, 09:25 AM
Well, i think you should write a letter to the russian team. I guess, they will answer you.

starlord
01-30-2008, 07:21 AM
I think I will do that: But can you give me info? Notably the address?

Thanks for the help provided: It is much appreciated.

Evgeny
01-30-2008, 07:47 AM
Well, what did you mean by our russian shop? If i know this shop, I'll try to find their email for you.

starlord
01-31-2008, 01:49 PM
that's curious, but I can't seem to find it anymore. But it seemed in one of the 1C company sites. Perhaps somewhere in here: http://www.1c-shop.ru/1c80.html

But never mind, I think it would be good to go back to the tomorrow war topic. Do you have a planned date for the english release of the tomorrow war? And what about the english release of the tomorrow war: factor K add-on? Would you rather advise me not to buy the tomorrow war now so I can get both the game and the add-on in one pack? Or should I buy the english release right when it goes out?

Evgeny
01-31-2008, 01:53 PM
Actually, I can't tell you now, but I hope i'll be able to do it this week. Stay tuned!

All right. Awaiting your info. Remember also: if you have any info on a BOXED english parkan 2 due out in england. let me know too.

best regards.
