So stock it's out of date, the Ultimate Edition in all its glory.

I use both, Stock and HSFX plus SAS modact for offline. The Pacific looks nicer if modded, but Stock loads much faster and the AI does not seem to be that stupid. For online its Cliffs for me.

It's offline and online with the stock game for me. I only use Stab 6.3, but I don't think that it counts as a mod. I wish that I could play Clod in "a playable way". The frame rates are just too low on my pc :(

I fly everything mostly offline of late... although that may be chganging to a degree.. at least until I get another job.

I enjoy online with HSFX in expert mode. I prefer online because of the folks I get to fly with and great friends I have made.

I have been flying IL2 since 2001 and appreciate the effort by many to improve the game.

Erm, the percentages on the graph don't add up, or rather, they add up to much too much.

45.45% + 21.21% + 30.30% + 27.27% = 124.23%

What's going on?

The poll allows you to choose more than one option. I fly both on and off line without mods, so I chose both.

I play stock when the server requires it, and modded ver. when flying on SkieofValor.

As for my modded ver. I just use Tons mod-activator, with SAS~Storebro's mod activator, WxTech's gun sight mods for N2 gun site, Guncam tracers, and VP_Medias map mods.

I would play only stock if the Guncam tracers are included, as I find that it runs smooth, and loads quick.

I've done most of the big packs, UP/DBW//HSFX, but find most of the content to be unused, And have gone through phases of adding planes, mostly the late war Japanese, and jet era. (would like to give that f-16 http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php?topic=46374.0;topicseen a wail, but I find that planes later than 1946 move too fast for the map detail, {or what I get on my system}. A A-10 would be good, and the helicopters were fun on the Slovakia map for a few months.)

Was seriously considering DLing the p-51 cockpit mod that just became available on SAS site
http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php?topic=46361.0;topicseen

Really the only enhancement that the game needs is a few map tweaks, (more dark green, and mud brown), and the tracers. .50 cals are invisible on my system, and flying the Mustang p-40's mostly, this is a handicap.
So my answer to poll is online both, off line modded ver.

Selected, Modded ver in poll.

Strictly offline, stock, with tons of stock-compatible enhancements. Have been since day one.

Online HSFX 7.03, moving to IES2 slowly.
Offline CUP (mostly), IES2 & HSFX sometimes.

55 voters after 5 weeks... Is it all IL2 (English speaking/reading) community today?
Those were the days...

Well, in my case it´s the 'more-or-less-english-speaking community' as well. But I don´t think a poll like this tells you about the actual number of players. Its just the number of players, who screen this forum and are willing to take part in the poll. Especially Offliners tend to be, well, offline, so they are usually under-represented.
It would be nice to know the number of 4.13 downloads. That would give an idea about how many are still playing.

Not really as some squads host the file locally for their members and others use the d/l from them or other IL2 resource sites.

It is a fun poll with no hidden agenda just a heads up for those that still visit here.

Well I fly both online and off-line with stock. More and more just going to off-line play though. I like flying the harder settings and longer missions. And most want easier settings and quick missions, rarely more than 30 minutes long. Which is fine, everybody likes what they like.
But me I prefer the challenge of flying the long bomber missions across the big maps. So I mostly fly off line campaign.

I stand corrected.
I certainly did not want to voice any suspicions about hidden agendas. I just tried to express my belief that there are still many more of us ;)

Off and On line with the stock game and HSFX.

To be honest I don't fly much at all anymore either here or with BoS or RoF, in fact I no longer have RoF or Cliffs of Dover installed.

The BlitzPigs have all pretty much moved on to other, easier to access non aircraft based titles. I still like to fly, but with my mates out of the picture the fun is pretty much gone from online flying.

The genre really needs a new, fresh, up to date WW2 title to pump up the interest again. BoS is not it and never will be, it was obsolete the day it was launched, and DCS WW2 is really never going to make it either, what with their dreadfully slow
development times.

Meh.

Yes there more flying IL2 1946 than it first looks like.

Apparently the Russians mostly fly offline and there's a huge user base right there that's unseen.

Off and On line with the stock game and HSFX.

Unfortunately @ 20+ years ago interest was high in WW2 Aircraft and sims, as we were bought up with the interest in them be it modelling or some kind of personal attachment usually relatives from that era in the services etc.

Its just a sign of the times that its very very slowly in decay but still surviving against the newcomers.

Off-line with stock game and Team Daidalos updates to 4.13

On the other discussion, it may well be a generation thing or it may be that the online gaming situation today has degenerated into something visited by those less committed to something like a flight sim. A societal ADHD! :)
