Don't know if this has been posted already, but out of curiosity I'm interested in knowing how many hours ppl have actually logged with CloD? This is partly also to help me understand how much experience I'm up against once I dare to log in to online server :-)

I guess I fall under the noob category with very limited time in my hands to spend in the virtual skies, I've got 46 hours so far.

70+, but all offline so far, so I'd get killed online. :(

About 300+ hours watching the trailer .. I've got it setup as my desktop backdrop!

I'm now convinced the trailer is raytraced because it's toooo smooth and high res.

I've got about 50-60 hours but that doesn't accurately reflect my opinion on the sim. I just don't game a lot lately and prefer other social activities, so it's not like i'm preferring to play other games. In fact, CoD is the one i'm using exclusively ever since i got it.

I would say 75-100 hours I know it was 70 last week sometime and I was on it off and on over the weekend until my company left. Then I was on it a solid 4 hours on two different occasions. I like the whole experience and enjoy the long flights to and from. I am just visiting all the airfields and inspecting them. :)

44 logged hours as Steam report, 38 flight time hours... so this means that I've been configuring and editing missions 6 hours :)

53 hours + (I'm guessing from the last time I checked)
The game has always been playable.

It's been mainly multi player the last few weeks, thank God for US West Coast servers (Syndicate) for us based in Australia we get an acceptable ping.

It try to limit myself to 1 tank of fuel online on weeknights as I don't want trouble with my lady.

xnomad,

The server is in Chicago (central US). The IL2COD server just happens to use a west coast IP address. (We have several IPs). The connection starting point is at one of the main fiber trunk lines of the internet itself (the whole connection is all fiber), through Internap (1gbps upload/download). Less hops etc.

What is your ping from Australia?

Only 18 hours for me,but to be fair it's only cause I got DCS A:10 the same week and I've been throwing myself into that with a fair bit of gusto so I can get my head around all the systems involved with that plane.

I really do want to play it though,I'm one of the lucky ones were the patch's have made the game very playable for me,very smooth with nice FPS,I just gotta tear myself away from that bloody awesome A-10 :P

167hrs as of this morning. I love CloD! I can't wait till the next patch, hopefully multiplayer will be working a bit better, I find it really hard to go back to IL2 after Clod.

A little over 40 hours, but all offline... trying to master taking off without setting my crate on fire or crashing into my flightleader... Thinking that I would have made a pretty good Target tower in RL....;)

86 hours, including completed British Campaign.

Some hours online but as the whole MP part is wobbly didn't enjoy it too much.

Latest patch made things worse for me, so at the moment I'm in the 'on the shelf' bracket of Winny's poll.

Really hope they'll sort things by end May.

I have less than 20 hours logged, and have not touched it for a couple of weeks.
I will revisit it after the big patch, but if they don't fix multiplayer damn quick its dead to me.

What's the deal with MP? Haven't tried that myself but was planning next weekend..

There are some real issues that need fixing but most of it is a combination of the patching process resulting in a lot of different versions of the sim and mission builders not having fully gotten to grips yet with the new capabilities (scripting, etc), so most servers run with a somewhat low attendance and very similar missions.

Mainly it's the fact that people are running all kinds of different versions because they give a better performance for their specific PC configuration (the last official patch, the 1st beta patch since, or the 2nd beta patch) and then join a server without making sure to match the versions.

The beta patches are unsigned and as such, completely unrecognized by Steam. This makes it possible to join a server running version X with a client running version Z, something that the developers advised about and warned that it would cause problems despite being able to connect.

I tried this just for testing and to confirm it. I joined the Syndicate server a couple of times when i was running a version similar to theirs, no problems whatsoever. Then i upgraded to the 2nd beta patch that made the game completely playable for me and tried to re-join the server: instant bug upon spawning, my aircraft controls were bugged and it was floating in mid-air.

However, this is not the game's fault, no game that i know of can handle multiplayer sessions between different versions. I guess that once the performance optimizations are complete we'll only be getting official patches, we will end up with "streamlined"/similar installations to a common standard and things will start picking up. Until then everyone is running the version that gives the most playable FPS on their system.

34.

About 50/50 on/off line. Mostly in the Hurricane (Rotol).

It should be a lot more by now, but it's just too hard to deal with currently.

Good to know. I guess the official release of the patch in progress will harmonize the versions again and with US release we'll see more ppl online. I'll wait for that before going online and keep on studying the flight envelope of 109 against the AI.

Would be cool to see someone put up an event with 20-40 online players or so. A historically accurate mission with a organization and the works. As close to the real thing as you can virtually get.
