Hi there,

I have seen many many topics here talking about loads of problems with IL2-CoD. As I could not find a tread that already deals with my problem, I`ll quickly post it here.

I just got the game, installed it, everything ok so far but when I want to start the game without beeing connected to the internet, it says, "you cannot run this game offline". What the f... is that? Again one of the Ubisoft "obstacles"?

A year ago I swore that I would never again buy a game from them just because of that, because all their games are made like that, you cant play them offline. If I had not waited for so long for this new flightsim, I would have never got it from Ubisoft again but someone told me that this policy is not applied for IL2-CoD. Apparently it still is applied!

Is there any way to play the game without beeing forced to be connected to the internet?

I just disabled my net connection and was able to play just fine. You do need to have an internet connection when you run the game for the first time but not subsequently.

Hmmm..., yes maybe that was the reason. It tried to download some additional files (1.patch maybe?). My modem is so old, it takes hours to download, sometimes fails totally. Tomorrow I will get a new modem, will try then to start game again including download of additional files, hope after that it will also start offline.
Thanks anyway for your answers!

soo true @swiss... nowadays, the first thought going through people's heads when something is not quite right seems to be to annoy people who have actually bothered to inform themselves - or at least kept their eyes open for the majority of time.

*sigh*
