OK Is Oleg acutally gonna read what is in this forum?

Oleg, Please fix the trim delay. It takes forever for me to get any plane trimmed out.

I use an X-52 and get lots of bounce and sway to alot of simple moves that should not be there.

It's way too fast on my X52 sliders. Almost to the point where it's unusable.

It's only through much time and dogged perseverance that I've managed to acquire the feather light touch required to trim for level flight, (especially in a full three axis trim plane, like the P39).

Trimming in combat would be near impossible. In that case it would be the keyboard FTW.

I saw some rotaries with positions 1/4, 2/4, 3/4 & 1/1 etc. - they can really have trim they want in a fragment of sec.

When I had my X-52 I had trim on the slider and experienced no delay whatsoever. Now that I have my CH hotas I dont have it on a slider anymore but on a hat switch and experience the delay so hopefully Oleg removes the delay or adds it to the slider as well because there is a very clear disadvantage here and one that I did not realized existed. Luckily for me I dont find myself having to trim near as much as I did when I had the X52. The CH hotas is just more precise.

I think the trim is fine.. look you can edit the response by using joy 2 key... you can set up macros on your keyboard. There are options. This sim screams out for a HOTAS gents... and I know that everyone doesn't have the disposable cash.. but for those that do we should have options to use the features that come with that. This whole trim argument is IMO a moot point... but thats my opinion and of course you are entitled to yours..

I get pretty good results with X-52 throttle + IL2JoyControl. I set sensitivity really low: 2,3,8,12,17,22,27,30,33,37 for rudder trim on the thumb rotary, and 9,13,16,20,22,25,28,35,41,48 for elevator trim on the other rotary. Works OK.

BTW The trim is just fine I tink. I am not a pilot myself, more a tehcnician. If you realise how trim actually worked in WWII (and many small aircraft today!!) it doesn't seem like a system that should react instantaneosly.

For those using buttons for trim, are you mapping it to a keyboard key? If so, the "delay" may be due to the repeat speed setting and the amount of time between the initial keypress and when the repeat starts.

You should get one of the stick axis profiling tools such as "IL-2 sticks"; it allows you to tune the conf.ini axis curves.

I had the same problem with my X-52 (I use the thumb slider for elevator trim) and IL-2 sticks works very well for me.

I use the two rotaries on the throttle of my Cougar and the response is very good. No real delay to speak of.

Then again, the cougar pwns all :D

When the devs are able to make it so that trim adjustments can't actually fly the plane, then maybe yes.

Trim is not meant to pull a plane out of a max speed dive because your normal elevator controls have locked up. As a matter of fact, trim will pull up a plane faster than the normal controls will, with a keyboard too!

Give me a break, if you are using trim for what it is supposed t be used for, it is currently WAY too fast.

how do you set the sensitivity on the trim on the X-52?

when i set the trim to the elevator trim to a slider or rotary it tends to flutter.
So i was forced to place it on one of the throttles Hat switch.
