Poor pilot. Is that flames or parachute silk streaming from the cockpit?

Look like flames to me.
Had it been his chute, he may have been better off riding the Mistel in to the target.

the slow mo footage shows the dropping near the tail of the ju88, still moving and looked like he might've made it

yeah I wonder if the pilot actually knew those beasts were rigged with half a ton of explosive.. I would have avoided even trying to shoot at the wings of the thing considering how low they were, if that plummeted on the ground and blew up while you're flying over you'd buy a one way ticket to the moon..

I'm I the only one who sees the 190 pilot falling away in the final seconds?
Especially grim if it is his parachute fouled in the canopy.

nope. everyone saw him. we have slow repeat specially for this moment at footage. and forget about his chute, because it is too low for successfully opening. he was lucky if he fell into water below. if not - certainly death.

He bailed out over a forest.... Some (a lot of) luck and the chute gets stucked in a tree and slows him down. Happened to a lot of people. Looks like he might have missed it and fell in the lake/pond instead though.

dont forget to make correction for perspective of point of view from guncam... maybe it was a water straight below him. i think nobody knows exactly for now.
but anyway terrain under the aircraft is pretty good for jump out at low altitudes. scary, dangerous, but much better than fall on to field or city.
also i discussed about bailouts with some soviet pilots of ww2, they say that almost nobody bails out below 300 meters altitude... so 300 meters was lowest point where chute can success open and fill with air. below this altitude pilots tried to land damaged plane. successfully or not - it is the other question.
in this case we saw that fw190 was all in flames, thats why pilot tried to jump out by all costs (in this case he has some chances to stay alive).

Wasn't it 3,800 lbs of explosive?
