Strange place though, for having an earthquake.

Nope.

About 90% of the world's earthquakes and 80% of the world's largest earthquakes occur along the Ring of Fire.

Could be, but i have never before heard of an earthquake in NZ.

Anyway, while we're at it, lets also not forget those brave people in Lybia standing up against dictator Muammar Gaddafi this very moment. Already 300 people died and by the looks of it, it's not going to stop anytime soon.

I just finished reading Al Deere's book 'Nine Lives' and there he talked about an earthquake occurring there when he was a boy.

... the aussie floodings now the NZ quake.. that area of the world has indeed had a great amount of suffering lately :(

ive driven, flat out, through the south island twice in the last 18 months, simply astounding scenery. Summer, winter, just an amazing place.

christchurch is such a beautiful city i seriously considered relocating there.

ive stood in cathedral square, rode the tram, wandered through the place like a homeless bum.

i know i'll be heading over again when they get back on their feet.

brought tears to my eyes seeing busted and bloody rag dolls being dragged from the dust.

TUNISIA, LIBIA , EJIPT revolution is dangerous much peoples emmigrate in ITALY to lampedusa (ISLAND) for FREE ACCESS TO EUROPE but EUROPE ignore this big big RISK and ignore ITALY because italy is important geographic position for african peoples refuges. ITALY is in THE CENTER OF MEDITERRAIN SEA and FRANCE GERMANY AND ENGLAND not help ITALY TO COTROL THE MEDITERRAIN SEA whit COVER WAR SHIP.
you IGNORE ITALY and the CONSEQUENCE FOR FUTURE IS HIGHT RISK FOR NORTH AFRICAN PEOPLES INVASION OF EUROPE.

My parents were on holiday out of the city; one of my workmates took a flight out of Chch just four hours before it hit. I'm glad I chose a different city to settle down in after spending most of my life there. Some lucky, some unlucky, just a roll of the dice.

Luckily all my family (who live there) were doing things in other areas of NZ.
Hope others are as lucky as them.

Good luck everyone

Someone hit his head in Africa. Let's make a thread for him too.

Come on. You don't help anybody with these threads. It just spams the forum.

If you really want to help them, travel there and help searching for survivers and stuff like that or donate money to organisations that help there.

I quess it takes all types, but life too short to put up with self centred idiots. Welcome to the ignore list Heche.

Your suggestion of making a donation though is sound. Your other suggestions are childish and Puerile.

So is that what your gonna do? Thanks for clearing that up, and don't tell people to "come on", that's a smart ass comment. Some forum members have family or are form New Zealand and we're showing our support.

Sry guys, I don't read anything related to the product this part of the forum was made for, so this thread is completely off topic.
If it wasn't, it still wouldn't help anybody. If you think it does, you're pretty naive.

To be fair, this thread should be deleted just like other threads that are deleted because they are off topic.

Of all the OT threads/posts on here you chose to kick off about this one... jeez.

Why not just keep quiet about it? What have you added with that post? Nothing. Pointless and negative and pretty heartless too, well done, idiot.

Where are the threads for Agypt, Lybia, and the other countries where bad things are happening? Don't forget all the poor countries where people starve to death.

Hecke mate you have no idea. I am posting to you from ground zero in Christchurch and I have to say any words of encouragement or well wishes are very welcome. Our city has been destroyed, we have lost many people, our infrastructure is in utter ruins and you come on and bitch like a spoilt school boy? I would like to grab you by the scruff of the neck and drag you down to our CBD where my wife escaped by the hears breath with her life and pound your face into some of the corpses that are being dragged out while I type so you get the reality of the crap you have posted embedded into your nostrils for good. You have no idea mate.

I can report Cadman is ok as is the rest of The Flying Kiwis.
But we have had a hell of a time here and are welcoming international assistance that has started to arrive and make a real difference (relieving our crews!)

Also someone posted earlier that it should be no surprise as we are on the ring of fire, we are not, we are off it by serveral hundred k's, this is truely an unexpected place to have (now 5000+) earthquakes.

earthquakes in new zeland is natural incident but libia tunisia and ajipt is human incident we risk another war if libia tunisia ejipt revolution and IRAN BATTLE SHIP IN MEDITERRAIN SEA? where they going?

Woody01

Sure the Earthquakes in New Zealand (note capitals and proper spelling) are a natural event but this thread was thought up to give assurance that people in other parts of the world are thinking of us and care, the civil unrest in the middle east is not new, the extent of it at the moment is unpresadented for sure and I wish them well, but compairing civil unrest with massive natural disaster is like compairing apples and oranges.

Thanks for all the support from the people that get it, go **** yourself to the people that dont. Think government military rolling down your road is bad, try to take on mother nature, she will **** you in the ass in new ways you hadnent even dreamed of.

So you can't mention one bad thing happening without mentioning all the other bad things that are happening? That's your basic argument?

That's so feeble it's funny. I think the correct response would have been a quick 'sorry guys' but you decided to argue the point... seriously?

Since the Ubi-Zoo days in the earliest years of this millenium, IL-2 forumites have expressed compassion for their "brothers in arms" when the hammer fell in their homeland. Prayers for NZ. Hold on M8s.

Sry guys for what? That I don't think it's fair that this thread is allowed to stay? Why should threads like these stay up on this forum and others that are related to the product get deleted.

Winny, what about you don't tell me to say sry and instead look at your post with the insult.

BTW you deserved the 'insult' (if you behave like an idiot and someone calls you an idiot, it's not an insult, its a fact)
