apart from Ubi, has anyone else found any other sites in the UK that are taking pre-orders?

I've looked & found none

Just ordered my confirmed english language Collectors Edition from site mentioned above (Finland based-ship worldwide )

http://www.puolenkuunpelit.com...uage=en&currency=EUR

Got a quick reply email to confirm it is definitely an english language version of game documents and they seem like a fast ,friendly efficient company.

So why did you use them rather than Amazon.De mate?

It's bizarre that Amazon.de have it and Amazon.co.uk don't, given the subject matter.

Maybe I'll check out Amazon.de's shipping charges to North America, I hold no hope that there'll be a collector's edition on .com or .ca.

Cheers, Spinner

I'm no sure that was a collector's edition because they are saying you will receive a download link in the launch day.
The picture might be deceiving.
I will wait more for Amazon UK or US start selling it.

I've just Spoken to Several companies including Amazon.co.uk, Shop To and Gameplay.

Amazon.co.uk stated to check back in middle of Feb, As they are waiting for supply numbers to be confimed by Ubisoft.

Shop To Stated they will be stocking it and its on their list of games coming out, But still waiting for Ubisoft to confirm how much stock they are getting.

Gameplay, Have never heard of it. God bless them ;)

I have also sent an Email to Ubisoft asking if they are stocking the game elsewhere or if its exclusive to them, Hopefully I'll get an answer soon.

The general impression im getting is YES its coming out elsewhere but proberly not till middle of Feb. Seems like Ubisoft are dragging their heels getting the info out to other companies. Still, we still have 2 months before the scramble, we dont need to start panicing just yet. :)

Hope that helps. last thing we want is people ordering from places noones ever heard of and getting scammed.

Thanks Cowboy! When I checked with Amazon a few days ago they had no idea about it,so hopefully the penny has dropped with all the 'il2:cliffs of Dover' hits in their search engine!

Uther, did you check the language of the collector's box items? If UBI translated them into German I don't think they are of much value to our english-speaking comrades.
Usually Ubisoft offers a fully localized version of each of its games for the german market, therefore I suspect the advertised version on Amazon.de has at least the printed 150-page manual as german-only version. (the game itself and the installer will certainly contain multi-language options like Il-2).
What I'm mostly interested to know about is: Have they also localized the Spitfire-handbook?

so, i went today to gamestop italy and the guy there told me that they have the game ready to be inserted to their upcoming games, however he has no further details for Collector's edition, he is moslty sure about that they will have it for retail, meaning not only for download, he told me that it will be sure at the end of the month.

OK Ubisoft finally got in contact with me, Telling me to contact Ubishop instead as its a question about an order with them. Damn Customer Service didnt even read the question. I did try calling Ubishop for an answer, who surprise surprise would only answer questions on their own stock, and had no idea if Ubisoft was going to stock elsewhere, telling me I should call them, Which is what I tried to do in the first place.

On the positive note, The lady at Ubishop did confirm there policy is not to send out until the product is released which means you WILL NOT get it for the release date. So at least that means I know there is no way Im pre ordering from there :)

Just sent yet another email to customer service, Stating my question is with Them and not Ubishop, As to whether i get an answer, Well Im not holding my breath, Not many things in life are certain, apart from Ubisoft customer service being crap.

Fingers crossed I may have an answer for you all Before the sim is out.

wow! I didn't even find out what shipping charges to the USA are, and just at the exchange rate to USD it is around $90.00.. so add shipping, if any , plus the shipping time is about 29 days..

just wait until UBI stops dicking around or Amazon.com here in the USA..

GoGamer still has nothing listed either

WTF, are they trying to push download sales instead of boxed versions?

The fair deal would be to offer the boxed version at X-price and instantly get the right to download the game as soon as it is available (so as to save the 7+ days that might take the post to get you the boxed version at home).
Even better...to supply all shops worldwide, so as to have the boxed version available from hour 1.

Still waiting for Amazon.co.uk or Play.com...

My hunch is whoever is making the marketing decisions is from a FPS XBOX background where downloaded content is much more common and acceptable.

They probably do not realize how distinct and different the PC simulation customer base actually is.

Profit for 1c:Maddox on download versions should be higher.

With just over a month to go before release, I surprised that only Ubisoft are selling the dvd version of the game - in previous comments in this thread, there are quite a few sites that are selling the game for download only. Is this a marketing ploy?

So, I've finally succumbed & ordered Cliffs of Dover from Ubi.com.

Reading their website, it is possible to cancel an order, so if places like Amazon.co.uk finally decide to list it, & it's cheaper, then I'll order it through them.

One thing I noticed on ordering it from Ubi.com, it says on the invoice that the release date is 21 March 2011.

My guess is they will let you download 1st @ £29.99 then 2 weeks later the hard copy will be available for pre order. If you want the game on the 25th march you get a digital copy if you want a hard copy its gona be another 2 weeks.
I will bet money on it.
Check the date on the France Amazon website.......

I notice the price differ a lot around, like Steam on top it seems, with 49.99 Euro.
IIRC the RoF was 500 Rubel, and I hear rumor of CoD between 500-1000R or 17.5$-35$
Just wonder how much in Rubel?

CoD delivered today - taken in by friendly neighbour - not yet flown anything as freezes when scenario loading - makes it to approx 95%.

Suggestion for improvement - different styles of moustaches for pilots?
