I just tried the B-25 blind landing, and the runway light request only turned on the runway end lights (red), which are too dim to be useful. Opening up the mission builder it would seem that there are no runway lights placed at Wards?
Is this a bug?

Quick edit, the request for the runway lights to be put on should be acknowledged and done waaaayyyy earlier, as soon as the pilot requests on the range of that frequency. As it is now they can only be turned on when you are nearly overtop the airfield, which is not much use. I requested the lights about many times, at 3.5miles back, 3 back and 2, and only heard "roger" and saw lights turn on when I was at the threshold.

In the FMB you can quickly setup your runway lights at Wards in any pattern you require by placing 'light type 1' along the runway, changing the light properties to 'Red' for each light and you are ok to go. Light type 1 is bright enough to be seen from a distance.
Request lights to be turned on from Ground control when you are in the landing pattern (you may have to request twice before you get a 'Rodger'). There is a few seconds delay and they come on.

Hope this will help.

Is there any way to put lights on a CV?

The light s need to be turned on at a greater distance and turned off when required.

To put us all out of our confusion? What map in IL-2 is showing the airfield 'Wards'?

It's the B25 blind landing single player mission installed along with 4.10

There's one for the Me110 too.

Ok now I know where we are. This mission has been designed to practice blind landings, using an NDB (Non Directional Beacon) to home in on and then the ILS beacons to bring you over the runway threshold at the correct height and direction using your instruments.

Red light Type 2's have been used at the runway threshold, which are a bit dim to see properly from a distance at 0100 in the morning (Pitch black). You can go into the FMB and modify this single mission to change the runway light to white Type 1, which might make it a bit easier to to see where you are on approach. The light Type 2's are showing up in the FMB when you open up the map.

Hope this helps you Tempest123

Yep, thanks, sorry for the confusion. I placed runway lights there, but they still illuminate a little late, it seems the range to turn them on is quite short, but maybe its just the hazy weather, I'll try again when i have more time.

I tried it on clear weather and it is still to close to be of value. The range at what the call can be made must be further out.
