Tally Ho Noble AirPeople!

I'm trying to get FoW to work using recon AC, but with no success. I have followed the guide and tweaked the buttons and settings as per, but still my dedicated recon AC type doesn't show any thing even when it's flying over an enemy airfield.

I'm obviously doing something stupid.... Can anyone offer some suggestions?

Many thanks!

You need to launch the mission as Coop or Dogfight in order for it to work (from the main menu - Multiplayer - Create New Server). If you are testing the feature by launching from the FMB itself it will not activate FoW functions (at least in my tests it didn't).

If this is not the case, could you please post the mission file for which you get the problem?

Cheers.

Thanks for your help BlackFox

I am indeed testing the mission in the multiplayer dogfight mode.

I have the feeling that I'm not doing something straight forward.... I'll post the mission files as soon as I'm home.

Should the recon AC just show icons for stuff it flies over or encounters in the air or should I apply a target-recon objective to it?

Thanks

The FoW is working, I've just tested it with the radar object.

I can't get the recon AC to pick up ground targets. I've got the designaed He-111 flying at 1500m over a couple of rolling T-34's. The default scan height is 1500m and the scan alpha is 50degs.

Any clues? Has anyone used this feature yet? If so what AC height and FoW defaults were used.

Thanks

OK there is a known bug that will be fixed in the patch.

The workaround for now is to enter the recon a/c for both side in both sides' box, eg red recon shows Pe-2 and He-111 and Blue recon shows He-111 and Pe-2.

Actually, there are several Recon Plane bugs. Even the workaround does not fix all of them. Hopefully, DT will fix them all in the next patch.

Thanks Aviar

At least now I know that I'm not going insane. The whole exercise got the grey matter going too, so that's not a bad thing.

I'll play about a bit and look forward to a full fix in a future update. I'll make sure this material is on the bug thread.

Tally Ho!

I already e-mailed DT with the particular bugs I found.
