a teaser dream I had

I know I'm really looking forward to SoW_BoB when it occupied a dream I awoke from this morning. I dreamed I was in a game store, just looking around when I was shocked to see "Oleg Maddox's Storm of War/ Battle of Britain" boxed edition. There was just the one in the shelf, and I swooped it up. The box art showed a Hawker Hurricane flying low over London. When I got to the cashier's counter, I overheard one of the employees saying the sim was unplayable on his PC, and he tossed his copy on the counter. Only, his copy had the Emil on the cover. Then I woke up. What a dream! I had the game in my hands! No doubt I'd have moved Heaven and Earth to get it to run on my PC (when I get one), so I didn't feel anxious at all. It was all so real. Silly, I know. But I wanted to share this because I am the only one on the planet who has actually dreamed of owning this sim! :D

I know how it's like!

I had a dream about it to. I think it was a few days after the friday-update with the cockpit video of the Spitfire flying acrobatics. The game was so immersive it felt like it was real. I experienced the dream from the cockpit view of a spitfire (Although I couldn't see my body = just like in Il2 and SOW). It really felt like flying. It gave that tickling feeling when I made turns.

When the dream started I already had a few thousand meters of altitude. The skie whas amazing (but I think everything had some birds of prey-like filters over it, which I don't really want for SOW :) ). It was probably already dawn, because there where a lot of orange tinted clouds. I simply enjoyed flying my spitfire amongst those huge towers of clouds. It felt like you really could get lost in the sky. The view was just beautiful. You could see the sea glistering, a foggy British coastline,...

I explored the sky for I don't know how long. There was no sign of any Luftwaffe formation approaching, I never heard something on the radio. Everything was peaceful... That all changed when I saw some black dots appearing out of a big cloud. They came right at me! When they were close enough, I was able to identify them. It were a bunch of Russian Mi-28 attack helicopters!!! :???:

Unfortunately for me, they were hostile and were trying to get behind my back. I tried to shake them off by some amazing maneuvers but it didn't work because there were just to many of them, and somehow had no problems following a spitfire performing a looping! I don't know why I never fired a shot at them. The dream changed in a exciting chase. Sadly I woke up from this dream before they were able to hit me (I don't even know anymore if they really fired at me).

I still remember this dream because I find it curious to dream about a game. I'm must be longing to play SOW very hard. I think the traumatic part of the dream, where those Russian attack helicopters were preventing me from flying peacefully with my Spitfire, is really funny. It's like I was unconsciously blaming the developers for making me wait for so long :)

That dream was definitely the best dream in months!

I'm not the only one dreaming about SoW_BoB? Zodiac, you sure had more content in yours than I had in mine! I never even got the game home! LOL!!! :D

It was a nice dream I had but I don't think it was that accurate in showing how the game will be like :) chases between spits and hinds don't fit that well with Oleg's historical accuracy standard... Your vision about a hurricane flying over london for the box art, is maybe a little more believable to come true, so who knows...

Stoopid me! I don't recall looking at the sys requirements in the dream. I think i was too busy being awed that I had a boxed version in my hands! :D Well, reality bites when you awake from a dream like that. But for the sake of clarity, I've been without a gaming system for so long that the dream MUST INFER to me that I either had a gaming rig that can run SoW decently, or that I had plans to get one. As it turns out, my birthday is coming next month, and the wife has given me the green light. So I'm thinking either a 6970 or a 570.
