Radar in coops?

The radar function for the MDS works just as the readme describes it.

With my squad we fly mainly coops; i'd like to know if there's a way to make the radar work in this game mode.

The Ship radar works in coops just like on a DF map. However, I haven't been able to get the Ground (Home Base) radar to work in a coop.
