It's a couple of dollars more on gog.com (http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/il_2_sturmovik_1946) but is pre-patched to 4.09m and comes with absolutely no DRM. Not that Steam's DRM is terribly onerous but I prefer to avoid any DRM if I can. Oh and on gog.com they state that it'll work on Vista at least ;)
