Hi everybody!
Oleg, we can finance your team for your future projects. It is very simple. You will have the money before the project starts.

1. You announce your next project.
2. We send you some money in period of 1-2 months: for example 20$ per virtual pilot.
10 000 * 20$ = 200 000$

/20$ are nothing - you can not do much with them actually, but Oleg will spend them wisely!/

3. You use this 200 000$ for financing your future project!
4. We receive perfect simulation later!

Guys, what do you think?
We can do pool also for voting!

~Cheers!

I think you can support Oleg and his crew better if you buy more copies of their games. Publishers and possible investor are only interested in sales and not in donations.
The more copies are selled the more money Maddox Games will receive and the easier they'll get money from the publishers.

Yes, just buy 5 copies of the game and present it to your best friends to make them very happy. This will force publishers to finance future projects.

A bit naive ;-)

As said before. Just buy the game. Buy multiple copies if possible. That helps a lot more than an unknown amount from a speculative (and highly optimistic number) of"10,000" people. Not to mention that those donation may very well be a poisoned gift for Oleg depending on russian tax laws.

I already support 1C as much as i can by buying their games. Got every IL2 package and also bought 1946 though i had everything from before. And many of their strategy games. I love the Theatre of War series :)

You wanna throw money their way?
Buy the games. They got quite many released and some very good ones. Theater of War series is highly recommendable.

When I saw the first development posts I told my self to buy atleast 2 copies in support of Oleg and his team.
I´ve never before been so involved in the making of a game as with Il2, Il2 FB and SoW.
You get connected with the development team and you want to help them.

I would never let my self buy multiple copies of Call of Duty or Need For Speed because they are just "games" in a huge market with more marginal.

But with Oleg and his involvement with his fans you just get the feeling of mutual graditude.
Think of all the hours he spends on posting updates almost every week. They could have been used in further development but I think Oleg wants share with us and I hope all of us can pay him back by ordering multiple copies of this marvellous combat simulator.

I sincerely wish for a instant success when SoW is released and 1C can pursue their goal of a comprehensive series of combat simulators ranging over alla combat theaters.

Do any of the old hands here remember when Oleg crashed two cars within a week, and we all donated money via Paypal to get him back on the road?

Oleg needs cash - cash will give enormous energy to his team.
If we buy current games like Il-2, it is not good. We have to raise money for FUTURE projects, which is impossible to be financed from banks, at their stage of development. But Oleg have proved his abilities to build superior products. We do not have to buy Il-2 in order to finance Battle Of Britain.
For example, I prefer to give directly 20$ to Oleg for financing Korea battle simulator.

I don't think Oleg would like to operate this way...all it takes is one unscrupulous person to frame Oleg for stealing money....
Also, if something went wrong....

Yes, I remember! It was great! Oleg's car was destroyed by garbage truck from behind. Somebody have said to Oleg: "Oleg it seems, your car needs rear gunner!!!!" Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!!!

I really do not need 2-3-4 copies of Battle Of Britain. I prefer to send money to Oleg!
He knows what to do with them.

You really are serious. :(

- 200k won't do by far
- find 10k ppl...

sold gamecopies are measurable success, for publisher, banks etc.

Oleg will get his money from SoW sales, won't he? And also, won't he charge companies who wish to use the engine? I think there is still a lot of money that can be raised this way.

However, I think BG is trying to make the point that he wishes to send Oleg money.

@Swiss, I'd search for you, but he's crashed a few times. I'm not sure which event Bee is talking about...

I also don't need 2 copies of it, but nevertheless I'll buy two of them. But that's not the matter. Software development is not a cheap business anymore. Publishers and banks can provide the needed amount of money. 200.000$ sounds much, but it isn't. Not if you have to pay a bunch developers :)

We are talking about much larger sale numbers and returns through distribution in order to cover Oleg's costs.

However, it is many times more efficient to self-distribute or to take donations, than it is to give a publisher a cut.

My own suggestion would be to open a shop selling souvenirs at an excessive price.

Just imagine the community donates roughly 300.000$ ... what do you think Oleg would do? I guess we would see a brand new Prosche ( or any other luxury car ) with "Oleg 1" on the licence plate in the streets of Moscow :D

Still, buying copies is the best way :)

- Community can send money directly to the creators of tha game. No distributors, no publishers, no one but the creators. It's a great idea.

In principle it's quite a nice idea, especially as 100% of the money would go to Oleg. BUT I have to repeat that Oleg needs and will need huge amounts of money which surely won't be provided by the community via donations. Millions of $$$ are needed. Publishers and banks have the money. They want to see good sales figures and nothing else.

Probably more like once every eight years (Oleg probably has several million from investors).

However, you would probably receive a pre-order copy of the new sim, along with more than enough money for a new rig... (instead of having to buy both)

Has anyone in this thread actually provided any evidence that Oleg 'needs' cash? Nope.

At this point, enlarging the SoW:BoB team would probably slow development down - it takes time to teach newcomers, time better employed sorting out the final details by the existing team.

Any cash raised this way by the minuscule portion of SoW purchasers that read this forum would be almost irrelevant to development of later software too. If anything, the suggestion that development was being delayed by cash shortages could actually reduce sales, and make matters worse. Can I suggest people drop this ridiculous topic, and find another stupid non-issue to argue about?

Ever heard of fiscal authorities? Ever wondered how they might see such a "donation"? Ever considered that this might cost Oleg more than it gives him because the tax he may have to pay is insane?

Being a Corporate Lawyer, and Investment Banker by education degree, I have to confess that I have never heard about "fiscal authorities", and I do not know what Oleg will do with the money...probably he will buy himself a lot of vodka. Whats up guys? Only cash moves projects further! Wake up!

Also, may be taxes are huge in Germany, but in Russia, there is different picture. Even Mr. Medvedev, the russian President himself proposed financing of Olegs team, in order to build Great Patriotic Simulator.

well thats kind of my point I follow the forum closely then i come on here and find this thread...which made me think wtf is c1 in financial trouble??? this is not Olegs first BBQ let him get on with BoB...and for those that think a handful of people from this forum donating to a "C1 development fund" is going to get them a game a year, best take that money and book themselves into re-hab for whatever substance they are abusing. kill this thread its going to cause more harm than good.
