all other flight sims and FPS see them but IL2 no longer.

What the hell happened?

Check conf for joyUse=1
Check that windows is giving priority to the stick over other game input devices in the control panel.

Yes it would, I have done it myself. Unfortunately the TM MFDs use up a "Windows Game Controller" number for each MFD plugged in. And they get to be numbers #1 & #2 in the list.

The result is that your controllers such as joystick, throttle and pedals end up being #3, #4 & #5 and do not show up in the game's input controller. That can be worked around, but FB can only detect 4 controllers, so one of the above will not be seen by the game.

Workarounds:
Use the HOTAS section of the Controls page to bind the axes of your flightgear. Then use JoyControl to set scaled inputs. Note though: if you have #s 3, 4 & 5 as mentioned above then you will not be able to use one of them :(

If your flightgear software allows you to combine your controllers into 'one virtual controller' then that will save the day. I don't know if Saitek software has that ability. CH software does and that's how I got past the issue.

Alternatively you could junk one of the MFDs which will leave space for stick, throttle and pedals. Or try seeing if TM software allows combining their product. The last time I looked they didn't but that was a while ago.

That all sounds confusing, but it is possible to get over most of the problems.

yep just unplug and play works faster and I can pulg back in if I need to for A10c, and FC2 and DCS Black shark it just a shame that IL2 can't do what the other flight sims do.

Personally I think the problem stems from ThrustMaster and Windows. If the MFDs had a decent software, and showed up as extra keyboards rather than as Windows game controllers - or could be combined a la CH gear - then the ability to run MFDs and a throttle, stick and pedals setup wouldn't be compromised.
After all - Naturalpoint manages to avoid this restriction although, strictly speaking, TrackIR is a game controller in that it takes over from the coolie-hat.

Did you know that if you're using Win7, you can just reassign the game controller number.

Thanks for that tip. I have to admit I didn't know that.

How do you do that?

Sorry, very late reply - you go into game controllers under control panel - hang on, I'd best check: Yes, easiest way in is to hit the windows key then type in 'game'. In the start menu which flips up, you should see 'set up usb game controllers' - bounce in there and have a fiddle.

Better late than never - thanks a lot!
