I started playing game and having lots of fun. Lol then I try and land.
I used to play pacific fighters but its been a little bit and I forgot how to land like I used to be able to.
Is there anyway for me to setup a training mission where I can learn to just take off and land on a strip. and also a carrier stationary on water and also moving.
I looked at the "training" section and its just watching videos. I was hoping for alittle better hands on training in that department.
any ideas are great, thanks guys
If I remember right in the mission section of 1946 there are a couple of carrier missions, stationary and moving, actually i´m pretty sure of it, even japanese ones.

The simplest solution would be to start a QMB-Mission, activate map an search for an airfield, then go land. That would also teach you how to navigate, find and approach an airfield.

The best way is that you join to a squadron and you learn inside of it, you also have videos in youtube

You could try Zeus-cat's Straight From the Farm missions: http://mission4today.com/index.php?name=Downloads&file=details&id=2147

go the full mission builder, place a plane for the player to use, save the mission in Coop mode and go load it up in MP and fly it over and over and over till you get your landing skills back +D

The original IL2 had the facility to 'take over the controls' during the training missions, which they removed from Forgotten Battles onwards.
If you can load up an original copy it's very useful.
Alternatively, as has been said, use Full Mission Builder to create your own training missions.
This chap's site is really useful if you don't know how.

^ Agreed. Very quick. Still nice to be reminded of the fmb though.;)
I'm in the same place as you Aaron...back after a long break. I'm still trying to remember where everything is on the joystick as the ground rushes up. Thanks for posting this....and for the replies.

Actually if your just after landings then starting up a multi-player map with takeoff and landing disabled will spawn you directly above the selected airstrip or carrier.
Of course there will be only you in there with no-one to shoot at :D ... but its great for landing practice as refly instantly puts you back in the air above the airfield and you can change aircraft type any time at will.
